Derby won 1 league game v Newcastle and then drew another 8 games to finish on 11 pts. Billy Davies was in charge when they had their only success - poor Paul Jewell (Davies' replacement) didn't manage to win a league game. Nearest anyone has got to this appalling record was Sunderland who managed 15 pts, from memory
I can't help but think Jedinak is one of them players that won't play as well for any other team, much like Noble at West Ham or Ashbee with us. Plus there's a chance he's being made to look good by being surrounded by ****e. Oh he's also signing a new contract very soon! I'd take a look at that Campana, Spain U21 captain who's apparently unhappy which would make sense as their play won't suit his style! He needs to learn English though. Not until the summer though
Oh aye, it was Jewell not winning I was thinking of. I remember Sunderland being that ****e under Mad Mick.
We will beat them at home but don't see us winning away. I've been to the last 4 palace away games and we cannot seem to play on that ****ty ****ing pitch of theirs. Last time we beat them there is 1985
Would Coleman really leave a Welsh squad that has the potential to be the best for a couple of generations to go to a club that is likely to be relegated and consequently sack him when that happens ?
SB has a knack of ending these long running stats. A few I can think of: Leeds away win last season Brum ditto 4th round league Cup this season
Unless you count the AET victory in the league cup under Hately. Edit - actually was that an aggregate victory and did we lose / draw on the night? I went to the game but I was wrecked so I cant even remember. My only recolleciton is turning up after half-time and David Rocastle (RIP) being in the stands to watch us.
The only Palace player I'd sign is that Jonny Williams. Attacking Midfielder/Winger, he seems to have all the attributes to be a very good footballer. The rest are just ****. Think he's injured at the moment, but whenever I've seen him play he makes things happen and he's very positive with the ball.
I'd probably take Yannick Bolasie as he's always a dangerous winger. He'd be good to be our 2nd choice LM should Brady pick up another injury. Jedinak is also a box-to-box 'no nonsense' anchoring midfielder, but with Meyler, Thudd, Liver-sausage, Quinn etc we probably wouldn't consider it unless one or a couple of our midfielders were leaving.
Actually, Derby did win. Against Newcastle - who were the only team in the league not to beat them. A win and a draw in Derby's favour. Editio - didn't read page 2 before posting.
