What a bloody great shame. I really feel for the lad. The 27 year-old was forced from the fray in the 77th minute of our Sky Bet Championship victory versus the Rams after landing awkwardly on his left leg. Faurlin left the pitch on a stretcher and scans have confirmed the club’s worst fears, with the playmaker now likely to be sidelined for between 6-9 months. The injury is a cruel blow to the midfielder, who suffered a carbon copy injury on his right knee in January 2012. QPR’s Head of Medical Services, Peter Florida James, told www.qpr.co.uk: “It's a really nasty cruciate injury. “We’re all desperately disappointed for Ali, but he is a great professional and I'm sure he'll work just as hard at recovering from this injury as he did from his previous ACL rupture.” Read more at http://www.qpr.co.uk/news/article/041113-faurlin-fears-confirmed-1154754.aspx#TwiBDHqxJC0p6S4h.99
our worst fears he has cruciate injury & out for season, just come through on phone, just when he started playing well, good luck on recovery ale.
Echo sentiments of the above. I woiuld imagine that this would make the signing of Benayoun more likely now.
So sorry...coming back in to real form. he was going to be our midfield dynamo, with Joey Gutted for Ale...a true RRR Hope the club treats him real well
Wishing him as speedy recovery as possible, I hope we clinch promotion to dedicate it to him. Time for the others to step up
I don't think it's a coincidence that he's suffered another knee injury as he was coming into form. That yard of pace looked to be back, he was flinging himself into tackles again with confidence. I hate to say it, but maybe he's got a style of play that's conducive to injuries? He does dangle his legs precariously whilst challenging at times. Terrible news
So, no good news really BUT if it was the same leg, I think that would have been the end of his career. Seeing as it's the left leg, and given that the right had healed and was holding up, then hopefully the left can heal too and he may get back to competitive football. Whether we see him playing in The Hoops again is another question of course. We're all gutted for you Ale. Speedy recovery and all best wishes.
He played very well Saturday and will be much missed ... He has QPR blood he will heal and on his game could play for any team in top flight football
You would have thought with all this technoligy thats about now that the injury sustained would heal quicker rather than nine months, clutching at straws really.
Mierda, as they say in Spanish. I actually thought he was going to get sent off for the tackle he made whilst getting injured. Speedy recovery campeon.
have to wonder if he will ever make it back to the top this time, I cant believe this has happened just as he has got back to his best
If anyone can I think Ale will. He seems a very determined, level headed bloke. I expect he'll be back for the start of next season, and I fancy the Club will offer him a new contract. If there is any good news in this he has not done the same knee again.
