Why bring a player on for three minutes, it baffles me?

Should have put them away first half. Good game.

Fair result in the end, I was dreading this game so to come away with a point is pretty good. Joint second <ok>

A lot of teams will go to Goodison and get nothing. Not too bad.

Good first half, poor-ish second half. Perhaps a few tired legs from the midweek game and Everton's positive subs gave them some momentum.
Not a bad point, I guess, but it's annoying that we've blown the chance to go second. Another clean sheet, but a bit toothless for the nth time.

    Lack of service to Soldado.

Avb takes off Sandro, our best midfielder and Everton take control.

No one can defend Avb on these two points as he makes the call on team setup and changes.

Such dominance in the first half yet no goals produced but the signs are there for the potential in this Spurs team.

    Good game.

Should have done far better with the 1st half possession.
Away you feel Spurs must score first to invite the opposition on to the
    counter attack.

That's the first time Everton haven't scored since 31st of August so the defence is sound, it's just the forwards again. I'm getting disappointed with Bobby now as I thought the Villa goal would get him going but no. However we gain a point which is better than nothing.

I agree. The only player that should have come on at that point of the game, would have been Capoue.

I think Everton planned to conserve their energy and grab it at the end.

I really don't understand why Soldado gets no love from the players, unless Eriksen is on the pitch. Weird.

I'm very happy with a 0-0 away to Everton against a side in form. We were decent at the back, Sandro/Dawson had Lukaku in their pockets for most of the game and Lloris was solid when called upon.
Going forward, we just need our midfield to see the runs of Soldado (he made quite a few that just weren't picked up) and a bit more urgency when we're outside their box. We don't take enough risks in that department with a cheeky ball over/through, instead preferring to play it sideways.
\o/ Good result for us though.

good away performance in midfield and defence...not cutting enough up front yet but we should be pleased with a point at Everton in my opinion.
20 points after 10 games is CL form.

Good point. As others have said, we should've made the domination in the first half tell but I'll take it.

Thought Friend had a good game in general but got both penalty decisions wrong and Paulinho got booked for absolutely nothing and Pienaar got away with a good dive in the first half. The minor stuff was near perfect and the big couple of decisions he got wrong.

Lukaku should come in for some trouble for that though, as a player he would have known that Lloris had that long before he kneed him in the face. I don't think it was the intention to really hurt him but he's a player who likes his physical game and took a huge risk in Lloris' safety there. The fact he got injured in it shows just how he completely failed to pull out at all.

I like a challenge. He was trying to win the game by putting on a more creative player as he did a bit later as well.

And the 'lack of service' to Soldado is inherent in the system. Soldado is just another team member whose main job is to retain the ball when he gets it and score if given the opportunity. To get 'more service' to him implies that we stop doing something else as players can't be in two places at once. Personally I think sacrificing a wide player for Sig or Eriksen would work better though.

Does anyone else feel that we might be getting a couple of the partnerships wrong at the moment?
Holtby reads Defoe's game well and Eriksen seems to be on the same wavelength as Soldado, but we're not using them together.
The central midfield should be one of Sandro and Capoue with one of Paulinho and Dembele too, in my opinion.
That's assuming that the Frenchman's fully recovered from being sat on by a Goon, of course.
