I said it a few seasons ago,and I haven't changed my mind. This referee is either bent, biased against Sunderland,or just useless!Yes,he got one decision right when he sent Dossena off,but Cattermole only merited a yellow card,But,the Hull lads challenge on AJ was worse than Catt's challenge, and he got away with it..as did McShane, with his attack on Westwood.I hope that the referees panel assess the useless display from this whistle-blower!Bent as a nine-bob bit IMO!!!
The fact that Poyet and Sunderland fans are trying to make something of McShane's clash with Westwood is frankly laughable.
It was just a 50/50, nothing more, nothing less. As they said on MOTD it was just 2 brave players going for a ball, either player could've come out worse. As for Elmo this theory that he wasn't touched is nonsense, might have rolled around a but but nothing compared to Johnson.
One of the angles on MOTD showed cattermoles studds sink in to Elmos ankle, it was excessively hard, he was already walking and no protest. The McShane/goalie one was just a 50/50 both had the right to go for it. Brady was lucky not to be sent off, specially when compared to Cattermoles challenge, I think had he studded Johnson he would be, it was off the ground and out of control. I think Cattermoles would have been a yellow had he not flown into it with such sheer force.
Anyone that thinks McShane should have been punished is a ****ing moron, he went for a 50/50 and got nudged into Westwood by Cuellar
Cattermole should not have been sent off, but,if he should,Brady should have walked as well....just proves what a sh**e ref.Mariner is!
Cattermole is brainless ans stupid. Looked like he was sick and fancied not playing so got sent off. No blame can be given to the ref today. The Sunderland team were ****ing ****. Simple. We will just have to suffer this season and start again next drain in the championship having cut the fat. If I see any of the first team innoublicI will slate them. In the words of Winston Churchill "bunch of ****s"
I love comments like this. Agree with me or your a "f'ing Moron". You know what that makes you, don't you?
Lads, only complaint we can really have is that there player should have been sent off also. Just watched it on motd & we were right to have 2 sent off. I don't get catts, I have just been signing his praise about being committed but not his old irrational self. Him & colback won us the derby, then its same old same old.
McShane's was a foul and nothing more. Cattermole connected with the lads ankle with his studs so it was a red but Brady was a definite red too. Both his feet were off the ground which is a red card offence.
My son and Andre's go to the same school and played on the same football team a few years ago, so I know Andre to say hello to. I've spoken to him about the times he's sent our players off in the past, and I don't believe he's biassed. He's just called things as he sees them, and he's genuinely a nice bloke. I certainly haven't agreed with all his decisions, but I can't think of any ref that would be true of. It's not a job I'd want to do. As for yesterday, I think that our two reds were pretty fair. Cattermole's was typical of him, he gave the ball away himself and straight away goes in too hard to try and get it back. It was bang in front of the ref and I think that's why it was red and not yellow, it's not that he's not in control of his body when making the challenge, he's clearly not in control of his mind, it's the red mist. Dossena's was just a disgrace, what was he thinking? McShane's was a 50/50 ball, you could argue that he should have seen he was going to collide heavily with the keeper but I'd just put it down as unfortunate. Brady should have been off though.
Absolutely no ****ing difference between Catts and Brady's You can see a lack of consistency from a ref in different games, but this was the same ****ing game. If we were the home team Catts would have stayed on and Brady would have went off
The McShane challenge was a foul, an unfortunate one for Westwood but they both went for the ball, no malice just a foul. Cattermoles was just reckless and stupid. He gave the ball away and saw red and went for it, Elmo made a meal of it but that is a straight red tackle these days. Dossena??? Wtf was he thinking about? I hope they terminate the loan deal and send the coward home, ****ing disgraceful. The tackle on Johnson was also a straight red, if you apply the law he should have walked and that's what pisses me off about refs. So ****ing inconsistent it's laughable. The tackle was late, high, both feet off the ground, studs showing, which ****ing bit did you and the blind linesman not see Mariner?
Why is Elmo a cheat and not Johnson?? Johnson did as many rolls as Elmo if not more. I agree both challenges where poor and should both have had the same outcome but to blame Elmo is just childish. Dossena's challenge was terrible, id be more concerned about one of your players doing that than anything else, wreckless to say the least. Your fans where a credit to your 9 players yesterday and im sure Poyet won't let you go down without a massive fight. Good luck for the rest of the season lads.
No issue with mcshane, catts and brady should have recieved the same colour card, dossena is a disgrace
You did better with 9 men. You should be grateful. You were getting tonked prior to the sending offs. Brady should have walked too.
