I think we need 9 points by the end of the Norwich game to be still in touching distance by Christmas. If we don't get that I can see January spending to be in line with preparing for the championship, If we get the 9 and only be 6 to 9 points from safety I say spend 20+ million to keep us up.
I'll believe we can escape until it's mathematically impossible but it's not looking great. That first half was one of the worst I've had the misfortune to watch - 2 poor teams. However, I've seen enough in the games to date to believe, if we get a bit of luck, that we'll do it. If there were 10 games to go and we had to make up 7 points I'd fancy us. KTF
I've already got 2 full season tickets but if you want to buy me extras I'm sure I'll be able to find takers
think the second half of the season will be very excitiing League Cup - Fourth Round Sunderland v Man City Sun 10 Nov 14:05 Stoke v Sunderland Sat 23 Nov 15:00 Aston Villa v Sunderland Sat 30 Nov 15:00 December 2013 Sunderland v Chelsea Wed 4 Dec 19:45 Sunderland v Tottenham Sat 7 Dec 17:30 West Ham v Sunderland Sat 14 Dec 15:00 Sunderland v Norwich Sat 21 Dec 15:00 Everton v Sunderland Thu 26 Dec 15:00 Cardiff v Sunderland Sat 28 Dec 17:30 January 2014 Sunderland v Aston Villa Wed 1 Jan 15:00 Fulham v Sunderland Sat 11 Jan 15:00 Sunderland v Southampton Sat 18 Jan 15:00 Sunderland v Stoke Tue 28 Jan 19:45 February 2014 Newcastle v Sunderland Sat 1 Feb 15:00 Sunderland v Hull Sat 8 Feb 15:00 Strange Man City v Sunderland Wed 12 Feb 19:45 Arsenal v Sunderland Sat 22 Feb 15:00 March 2014 Sunderland v West Brom Sat 1 Mar 15:00 Liverpool v Sunderland Sat 8 Mar 15:00 Sunderland v Crystal Palace Sat 15 Mar 15:00 Norwich v Sunderland Sat 22 Mar 15:00 Sunderland v West Ham Sat 29 Mar 15:00 April 2014 Tottenham v Sunderland Sat 5 Apr 15:00 Sunderland v Everton Sat 12 Apr 15:00 Chelsea v Sunderland Sat 19 Apr 15:00 Sunderland v Cardiff Sat 26 Apr 15:00 May 2014 Man Utd v Sunderland Sat 3 May 15:00 Sunderland v Swansea Sun 11 May 15:00
Tremendous effort by your fans in the 2nd half.We turned into a non goal scoring machine against 10 men. There are plenty of teams to be easily caught yet. Poyet will need to get better tactics in place very soon as prior to the sending offs you really did not look like a team capable of beating us-and I am sure that must have been the plan. I am hoping that we are now just outside of your realistic range as I cannot foresee you going on a winning frenzy even if we do crack a bit. Still your fans did you proud and put the nervousness of ours in focus.
Just looked at your fixtures for this calendar year.Apart from Norwich game Poyet will have earned his bonus if he can get 6 points. Will you spend big in Jan if you are in the bottom 3 at year"s end?
November is the month that will tell if you get a little mini run going you will be fine, if you are still in this state you will be screwed at Xmas. Still think there is a lot worse then u boys, the law of averages say you must start picking up points soon. Ps hull are a half decent team this yr
I think we can still survive but IMO Poyet has to be ruthless if not adventurous. He has got to drop a number of the Old School players that have been tried and tested & have continually failed to deliver for more than one manager. On paper we have a good squad that should be able to compete comfortably in this league. No doubt Poyet has learnt a lot about the players from the last three games and is now starting to form his own ideas and strategy.
No one's saying we aren't ****, at the moment, but that doesn't mean we can't escape relegation. The results today show that there are enough teams who are bad and can get worse ............ we lost an away game, big deal. We almost took a point with 9 men, things aren't that bad.
People need to wake up because with the same **** players getting pick then we are going down. can't even beat Hull for **** sake. I said on Monday 2nd September we would go down & I'm pissed of with myself for not putting that bet on.
