Hoping against hope that this is mind games. Pablo at the top of his form can unlock any defence and we have badly missed his creativity in recent games. I think we will need to score because Cardiff will pepper us with set-pieces and probably be likely to score at least one given the fragile nature of our back four - Hammers game apart. I just hope that Vorm shows a lot more appetite for the cross ball than he usually does. Our possession game hasn't been up to par of late, so I'm not banking on that to keep the oppo at bay. I think we will need at least two to win and Pablo was our best bet to set them up. Big blow if he is out. Our best is far better than their best. We need to produce it though. No shrinking violets in this game!!
I guess that sums up most stray passes doesn't it Norway ? I just remember his stray passes creating more goalscoring chances for the opposition than his creative passes did for us. As for being more settled this season..... how many games has he actually played?
Not many hence we need to stop hoping that he becomes fit to play and buy somebody of real class on the wing and not loanee crap like Lamah. Zaha would be a step in the right direction
No, I'm not forgetting his good contributions, but some are just remembering his good aspects. When he's good - he's good, but it just doesn't happen enough. It seems that some see him as the saviour when it comes to winning. I personally think that's because none of our other wingers are exactly on fire at the moment. I just want more consistency. For instance with Michu - we know what we'll get and it will be fairly good - even on an off-day, with Pablo - we hope he'll have a good game but he is just as likely to be totally anonymous.
That's fair but I think all of our players have equally anonymous games from time to time that's why they play for the swans . Bearing this in mind it's often better to look at what players give you as opposed to what they don't give you . If Pablo brought his best every game then he would be playing for barca,Madrid or man utd we sometimes need to realize there is rough and smooth with our players because they ain't top level performers ,they all have flaws .
When he started this season (including pre) he appeared to be the real deal and the player we know he is. I think it's that fact that sticks in peoples' minds rather than is hit and miss performances last season
People forget he's played in an excellent Valencia side and has CL experience. He's also been capped for Spain. You're no slouch if you've got that on your CV.
really, is that why Valencia turned down 18m euro from Chelsea ? http://www.insidespanishfootball.com/19182/pablo-hernandez-a-tale-of-unfulfilled-potential/ People tend to forget the potential this boy had and they also forget the ability he possesses, there is no doubt he is not reaching his full potential, but when he did last time it was enough to alert the likes of the big clubs, his form only went down when Valencia sold Villa and silva . Lets remember what he gives us not what he doesn't
