i would keep anton as backup but bramble turner is our best partnership at the back. they only played 8 times together last season but we were only defeated in one of them and kept 5 clean sheets, including that chelesea away game!

His way of saying ... I know I'm getting paid lots for being not very good, but i'll give you a good round of applause and maybe you'll go easy on me.

    Good stat that, Houghton.

Do you have any more like it for our CB pairings over the course of the season. Or back 4 lineups?

Turner is a slow donkey, but so was Tony Adams.

Like his 100%ness, but also like Anton. Let them fight for it.

I like him less after reading that but it's been reported that he's on about £50,000. Keane handed him a massive long term contract.

Personally I think Turner is our best CB, I agree distribution etc is not the best but he's more a blood-and-guts body on the line CB.

Him and Bramble together were excellent in the first few months of the season, and if they started next season fully fit as our first choice pairing, I wouldn't mind a bit.

If we did get Johnson, not sure which one would make way- from what I've seen of Johnson he looks more like Turner in terms of playing style, so I'd probably opt for Johnson and Bramble.
