LIW no doubting your passion for the club, but I think you should read this before banging on about how crap some of our players are âItâs taking me a bit of time to settle in,â he said. âI was at Crewe for 17 years and thatâs all that I knew â the Crewe way. âCrewe are a small club with three or four thousand at games. This at Leeds is completely new to me. Iâm taking it all in and I knew it wouldnât happen for me overnight but Iâm getting there now. âI donât think people have seen the best of me yet and it does take time to show that. Score a few more goals, create a few more chances and then Iâll be happy.â Give the kid a chance ffs. We've given Aiden plenty of chances and all wanted him to make it but he can't. Smith is better than what you saw when he landed, Hunt is a player with experience and no way should he be taking this long to get his game sorted so agree that he will probably be a casualty. But please dont slag everyone who doesn't live up to your expectations immediatley. This is the championship and the players we get are L1 quality with some kids with potential thrown in. We work on a shoe string
Doc It's not that murphy is playing bad, he's got nothing in his locker If things were coming off, fair enough Tell me his strengths !!!!!!!!!!!!! We work on a shore string ----------------------------------- What utter bollocks Yes the budget isn't has big has what it should be But there more clubs with a lower budget than higher in this league
Good points well made DOC. In the same way that Murphy is having to adjust to life at a big club, albeit currently a sleeping giant, LIW is going to have to adjust to the fact that on this site, there is somewhat less negativity and thoughtless banter as might be the case elsewhere.
Wakey yes there are clubs in this league with less cash than us agreed. Burnley a classic case in point and their manager Dyche has them playing wonderful attacking football. Why can't we do that we our 'better squad'? I think a lot of it is down to every team playing against us having a cup final and wanting to play well/better than normal. Also expectations of our fans and reality of playing in front of a massive passionate crowd. Some players dry up and can't handle it and we've seen some very experienced players fail here but play great when they go elsewhere. Hunt is a player who should be able to handle it but clearly cannot. While you shout abuse at Murphy (Even on here as he may read it) you dont help him and I know you want to help him excel the club. Some players will never get it and dont deserve patience but Murphy does and if it doesn't work you should abuse the manager for being wrong, but its too early for that yet
Why is it Boggers that if LIW disagrees with you about certain players he's being negative? It's called a difference of opinion, that's what forums are for. Take Lees for example, you seem to think he can do no wrong, but after 200 games for the club he's more than learnt the ropes, knows all about the pressures of playing for Leeds United, and if he can't do the basics right by now, like controlling the ball, not being physically out fought by opposing players, and executing the simple task of finding a teammate with a pass, he never will.
the frustrating thing for me is Murphy cost nearly as much as we got for Howson. Yes Howson used to go missing when played in the normal CM role but the AM role there isn't many better players we could find. He had an unbelievable fitness level and scored goal. I'm hoping Murphy will come good but even Howson got slated by a big chunk of Leeds fans and Murphy is miles away from getting to that level
Doc I only back the players at matches, because I believe that what you should do On forum I tell it how I see, sometimes wrong sometimes right I really hope murphy is reading this and thinks that, LIW is talking utter bullshit and am going to prove him wrong What I will say is am always open to have my mind changed about a player, if they play well
Yes Howson used to go missing when played in the normal CM ------------------------------ I really hate it when people say howson went missing. He never did, always tried always wanted the ball. Yes sometimes he didn't have a good game or the opposition played better than him But that isn't the same has going missing Goes missing and he'll do a job, are two things I hate to hear
the opposition dominating someone is him going missing in my opinion and played in the CM role he did it a few times. in AM he didn't have a bad game imo
Is it bollocks No player in the world can dominate a midfield every game Other teams do have good players has well you know
Point noted LiE. Its just that LIW's negativity is soo depressing, and also not really warranted. We're now moving in the right direction, albeit somewhat slower than we would all like. Some of LIW's comments on Murphy yesterday hinted at him being written off already. FFS, the season is less than a third of the way forward. BMD started off with one formation, and has quite rightly changed it. Murphy, like Lees, is now having to get used to this change, as well as the significant step up from L1. Specifically on Lees, he's clearly a work in progress. But he can't be that bad. He's played under at least 3 managers. He was an England u21. And he now potentially has an experienced international to guide him through and bring him up to a better level.
I'm talking about when he has a bad game not the opposition having a good game. your interpretation of going missing is different to mine we doing Blackburn or what?
Wakey and kissa One thing that we must agree on with regard to Howson is that: 1) Some fans were glad when he left. 2) he wasn't that fantastic when he started in the prem. 3) he's been the canaries best player for the last month. So he must have taken time to adapt to the prem. BJ not getting much of a look in, would he be worth getting back or is he now not good enough for us. Snodds still doing some damage down there and deserves his Scottish caps, wish we could get him back. Luciano, not fantastic for us but sometimes tried his best when not throwing himself on the floor. Dod score some goals and took over the strikers mantle after Beckford went. he was badly handles by Warnock and he should have had an operation because we lost him and his goals for half last season. Would I want him back now, NO he's not good enough
Also not sure I'd want Becchio back now. But it would have been interesting to see how he would have got on with us now playing proper footy rather than hoofball.
