Just read the interview with Redfearn because he's not happy and reckons we were the best team by a country mile, but Barnsley won 4-3 in extra time. But the big thing for me is that our new signing is by far the best quality player we've had in that team for some time. I do worry though that he's played for them twice and had 7 goals go past him? BMD has openly stated that he was shocked about the scouting system and he intends to fix it just like he's done with the academy set-up. He says that a club like ours needs a huge base to build upon and that means the academy, the kids and the scouting network. I do find it amazing that he's having to waste time setting these obvious things up, when all he should have been doing was making small changes/tweaks. Just shows how close our club came to the bottom under Bates's leadership. BMD has sent White out on loan and also young Lineghan to Bradford Park Ave. So he has quite a few kids out getting some experience, which is good and still has it seems like good squad of academy and development players getting high praise from the boss. Long may they develop. In terms of where we are, and where we will end up this season, I think we are behind where we should be, although I still dont see top 6 unless we sort ourselves out and go on a big run of wins, followed by some big signings in january. However I dont see that happening so will finish around 13th. I see a big clearout in the summer as contracts are run down and players nobbed off. Will GFH sell to a rich investor and sort this club out once and for all? What will happen to Ryan Hall, will he be sacked or can we make a few quid on him or is he just ****.
Afternoon Doc. Although only a development squad/u21 game, MZ standing out head and shoulders above everyone else is what we should have expected. That it happened must put our current CBs on notice that they now have serious competition and that one of them will rever to the bench, probably for Saturday. Comments on Polen just confirm what we already know; i.e. that he's a work in progress. Again all good stuff. White and Lenighan out on loan is positive. Will give White a chance to get some regular game time and show what he can do. Lenighan's loan is just part of his overall development. So again all good stuff. Hall's future at ER now looks grim. If he wants to stay at ER, he will have to go out on loan and hope that he impresses. If he won't and doen't, time to say bye bye.
Boggers did you read the article from Abbot yesterday about White. apparently he knows the family really well, and had White as a kid in the academy. He hoped that White would take the opportunity and go out on loan. He also hoped that he got his head down and showed everyone what he's capable of because he's not dne himself any favours since he signed the new contract last summer. He said that White is whie through and through and doesn't want to play for any other team, but he has a career to think about and he knows BMD will only do whats best for any player as he's old school scouting and kids development skills. BMD is aware that White needs a chance and he he wont get it at Leeds, but if he does well he will get a chance when he comes back. Abbot said that White has had loads of chances to go out on loan but always turns them down unless forced. He had the chance to take him to Carlisle last season but Oldham was nearer so he went there. I dont think White has it and will ever make it at Leeds, too many years flattering to decieve and no way back now.
Certainly good news about Marius. I gave my opinions on the lack of scouting yesterday which is basically the same. Don't want to see Hall or White back to be honest. Whites as good as he's going to be and thats not near good enough. Hall is a header obviously
Cheers Doc. I think I did see Abbott's article yesterday. Think it might be last chance saloon at the Blunts for White tbh. Being a wingback really should show him off in his best possible light. That he isn't even making the bench speaks volumes. I really hope he takes his chances at the Blunts as his time at Leeds might be up if he doesn't. As for Hall, he needs to go out on loan, as much to put himself in the shop window as possibly to come back to Leeds. Just think it hasn't worked out for him at Leeds. It should have launched his career, but he really hasn't taken his opportunities.
As I said Simon replied to me when I recommended various players saying he had a good scouting system but he still got two off the players on my list Hamill and Adam Smith hes now at Derby plus BM took Matt Smith .Still would love Jennings as I don't think he has settled at Barnsley probably likes lager and not Barnsley bitter
He has had at least 2 chances to off load white and he said he was still in his plans yet barley got used since. Yet just 3 months on he's being loaned out to a L1 team... Why was he not just off loaded when we had the chance? We could have got fee in for him to. And I see warnock may be out for the weekend game? Where white plays.... And young Poleon is suffering both have because of bm, the kid is not being played so why is he here? Why is he not out in loan learning the game, he could have been out in loan and got 6 months first team football out on loan instead of next to None, and to top it off he's being over played by a loan player that's not ours... And Why is he just talking about our scouting system now when he's gone on a bad run and talk of getting the sack trying to make things look worse then they really are? The common fan will buy it just because he says it, must be right if he says it right? Why was there no talk of this at the start of the season? And if it is so important why was it not sorted out before the season started and why wait 4-5 + months for one man he wants? If it would have been in place at the start if the season then players may have been lined up for the jan window. If past owners was in charge and he would gone on the sky show and said that he be sacked by now. It is embarrassing for the club, football fans must be lol at us. But it's ok super BM is here to save us and put every thing right... God help us.
Good point about the scouting system. Why wait till now? Has he only just discovered we haven't got one? And pretty bad form to broadcast it to all and sundry. These issues should be sorted in house. Brought unnecessary embarrassment to the club which could so easily have been avoided.
Blue White was wanted out on loan at the start of the season but he refused to go. BMD stated that White was still in his plans and wanted to see him progress, but he needed some games as he couldn't give him any time on the pitch so thought it a good idea to go out on loan. Its the players choice and he chose not to go, but has obviously changed his mind especially as Clough wants him. Its a big chance for White but he's had plenty of chances and failed to deliver anything of quality. he runs into walls instead of using his pace and delivering good crosses or cutting inside and having a go at goal. He got one decent goal in the cup and that was the best I'd seen him play, but sorry he's a Leeds kid but he's not good enough for us. I hope it works out for him and if he improves he may get a game in January, but if not he's history.
