Got it virtually in one Eire. Not all BMD's signings will work. That's the nature of footy. But I think it's time for some on here to look forward rather than back. We really are now moving in the right direction. I do think we will see more signing successes than failures. I also think given our change of approach - 352 & wingbacks as opposed to the diamond formation - that we will see us creating more chances and winning more games than has previously been the case. More to the point, we aren't even a third of the way through the season. There are still a shed load of games to go. Although somewhat unlikely, we could even win the league. More likely is that we will finish in the top 6. Let's just keep the faith and see what happens over the next couple of months
Have to disagre with you LIW. His signings certainly haven't been poor on the whole. Most seem to have been reasonably successful.
Like who ??? Hunt - shocking Wootton - been no great shakes, I do rate him though, he also got dropped Murphy - poor Smith - done well lasts two games, that's it Get yourself down to specsavers mate
Thought I'd never say this but I agree with you especially on Smith and Hunt. I'm going to give Murphy a bit more time though there must be a reason McD spent £1 million on him
Hunt has yet to experience the benefits of the new 352 formation. Can't see him getting a chance for a while, but we may see a different Hunt if he gets a game with us using this new formation. On Wooten, we'll see by the end of the season. On Murphy, work in progress & last week's miss was poor. Suspect he'll be on the bench for Yeovil. But he will only get better. You don't pay ££1m for crap, & BMD has more experience of judging players than you do. So we'll see. On Smith, we're now playing to his strengths with this changed formation. So again, let's see how this develops as the season progresses.
It's hardly worth arguing the point. You cannot write off players after 12 games or a manager either. Criticise certainly, but certainly not write them off as some are doing
If Marius was as good as some are hoping then why would he sign for us and where is the queue formimg to snap up a freebie? We are a mid table team full of average players who will finish the season in an average position, I see it that this is just another average at best player joining us. I will predict what will happen though... He will start a game and we will win keeping a clean sheet, the following match we might well only concede just the one goal and fans will be talking of promotion and that we have found the missing link... Then he will have a shocking game and we will get stuffed and all fingers will point at him with shouts about how we need to play Pearce or Wootton instead. Pin point pass directly to his head less than 10 yards out, any striker should be putting those away. I know he scored last week but didn't he miss a hatfull of chances?
Maybe, but I can assure you I'm not one. Was in a foul mood at work today, with everything going wrong. After Leeds win, it's like a cloud has lifted and made up now for remainder of our weekend
Haven't been out in weeks. Meeting some liverpool mates tonight for Guinness and at last have opportunity to slag hell out of them. Knew I'd get the chance if I waited long enough. It's sad chesh but my weekend moods are greatly affected by Leeds
I have nothing else to say on Marius hence why I haven't until now replied to this particular thread. We were at home to the bottom division side, the kind of game where nothing less than 3 points would be acceptable. Not doubting this is a story that might have went out to the press but do you personally believe he would have chosen us a mid table team over Rangers and QPR?
You sound disappointed we won.Just because a teams bottom doesn't mean its an easy win,Yeovil beat Forest 3-1 last week, posh got the double over Cardiff last season, and if results went on paper Wolves would be premier league not league 1,have a day off and be happy.
I am pleased we won but I didn't expect anything less. Yesterday wasn't a game where I thought it would be close, we should have expected nothing less than beating the bottom team who have won two league games this season and if you look at the stats you will see how their win against Forest was nothing to be concerned about, they were very fortunate. As far as I am concerned we should win our next two games if we are serious about a top 6 but I would be pleased with 4 points. Then our first real test in a while, away to Blackburn followed by a home game against Wigan, two teams sitting right on our tails. Those are the games I get excited about winning, not 3 points against the leagues worst teams.
