Leicester City are willing to sell Jack Hobbs to Hull City – but not until Sven-Goran Eriksson has found replacements.
The 22-year-old defender does not appear to be in manager Eriksson's plans for next season after finishing the last campaign on loan at the KC Stadium.
Hull have tabled a bid in the region of £800,000, but it does not meet City's asking price for their former player of the year.
Sources, however, say the clubs are not too far apart in their valuation and a deal could still be done.
City will not part with Hobbs until they know which defenders they will be able to bring in next season.
Eriksson wants defensive loanees Jeff Bruma and Ben Mee.

Judging by what the Mercury has said today the asking price for Jack Hobbs is 1M. I want him to stay but i think he will go but not until we have signed a few defenders as Hobbs and Bamba are the only centre halfs on our books. Tunchev is on trial

Also the mercury says Dany N'Guessan has been on trial to a french club. That would probaly mean the end of him. Shame, i wanted Sven to look at N'Guessan before we get rid as if he was more consistent he would be a great player. Just needs to be managed a certain way. Nigel used him sparingly and he did well for us last season. I remember QPR away when he destroyed them

A shame to see Hobbs go - another part of the League One winning team bites the dust. But I think it's clear that he doesn't fit into Sven's plans and would have to seriously edit his playing technique to be so. I wish him well at Hull - who are quickly becoming Leicester's reserve team! <laugh>

Hull have had Fryatt, Hobbs and Solano off us. They have been linked with Howard and they probaly have their eyes on a few more of our players. So will anyone have a soft spot for the Leicester B team this season

Do you think they'll take Kermit and Lamey off our hands as well? ;)

A real shame if Jack goes, one of our best players under Pearson, but Sven has a very different style of play. John Terry is one of the best Centre halves in the world, but you couldnt see him playing for Barca, similar thing here, he just doesn't fit in with our style of play.

Worst thing is, i've got Hobbs 25 on the back of my home shirt....

Maybe they will take Bruno too. If he goes to Hull, I will definitely be looking out for their results next season!

Bruma is going to have to seriously improve defensively if he's the replacement for Hobbs. A better footballer he may be but a better defender? Not at this point.

Mee seems more of a like-for-like replacement at this stage, he's got plenty of potential for a young defender, is versatile and can play a bit too.

Vitor is a possibility for another loan. Get him in if we can. Leaving us with Tunchev, Mee, Bamba, Vitor, Bruma (assuming we don't sell Bamba). I think that's enough personnel, but questions have to be asked about Bamba's end of season form, Tunchev's fitness and Bruma's defensive awareness. Seems a risky bunch, I would have hoped for us to get someone who's a bit more experienced and is not 'learning his trade' as 3 of those 5 are.

Shame about Hobbs, but I've been expecting him to leave for some time now. I wish him all the best.

What happened to Bougherra. Linked very strongly with us the other day. Think he'd be a good replacement.
