If it's the same as last time it'll be one, and that didn't work out.
We rarely do loan players, unlike Uddersfield had against us in the play-offs,. <ok>

Sides full of loan players show little togetherness when the chips are down, after our first goal they had gone, let this be lesson to our lower league bretheren.

While it's a nice idea for POSH to have Man Utd players in their squad, previous remarks about loan players are very valid.

2 season ago, too many loan players cost us our Championship place
Last season Sheff Utd went the same way

If Peterborough want to survive this time, and I really hope they do, they need to buy and create a team unit and not have 4 or 5 individuals who are due to return to their club after 2 or 3 months.

true i guess but im sure having a couple of youngsters on loan like Drinkwater or Morrison could help in making the squad a bit stronger and if we could get someone like Cleverley for the season that would be great!

I wouldn't say no to Drinkwater or Ravel Morrison joining us, but they should not be coming to take the place of a permanent member of the team.

Loan players need to be used carefully to augment the existing squad, provide cover and be used as impact substitutions.

If we can get a striker who scores 20 goals in a season on loan, i think it would be worth taking the place of a permanent squad member who would normally be sent out on loan!

Loan players didn't work for us last time.
Remember Danny Rose, the one who scored that wonder goal for Spurs? Totally uninterested at Posh.
The quest for survival just brought more random loanees that continued our downward spiral. Jake Livermore was an exception.
The recent policy of loan players only with a view to permanent transfers has worked well and should be continued, unless we have a definitive need for a certain player and good justification for a loan being the only answer.
Fergie needs his own team, not Daddy's "help".

    Easy as that hey?

Take a look at the scorers list from last season in the Championship: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/eng_div_1/top_scorers/default.stm

There were three players in the entire division who scored over 20 goals over the course of the season. Shane Long has made 173 appearances for Reading and managed 21, Grant Holt has played 83 times for Norwich and got the same. Then there's Graham who played over 90 matches and was the division's top scorer.

I would be incredibly surprised if a less experienced and younger player from Man Utd could achieve this number of goals without needing to bed in at the club.

The stats don't lie. Established, permanent members of the team should score more goals than loan signings, particularly at Championship level.
