I never said that you do. I'm just saying that such an offer is not as unreasonable as some people seem to believe.

We do with Suarez though, it's clear to everyone what he can be like.

Fair enough - personally I think it's not good enough for us to accept. It has to be substantially more and I reckon we'll want a straight cash deal.

Yes. Basic principle of a free-market economy.
If, as you say, Real can't afford him, then they don't get him. If we were desperate to get rid of him, he'd still only be worth whatever someone was prepared to pay, there's no intrinsic value on his head.

If Liverpool did want straight cash I think that that would be a deal breaker if it was Madrid who wanted him. I doubt they have that sort of money after the Bale deal so they would likely be looking for a swap such as the Benzema one or to pay in installments. I guess they could try to offload the likes of Benzema or Di Maria to someone else and use the money from such a deal.

Just like last year. It's getting boring now.
They'll keep saying it until one day it happens. Then they'll say "Told you I was right" conveniently forgetting how many times they were wrong.

That's exactly the point. It's not a question of Benzema's ability but if it's a deal that doesn't suit us we simply don't have to sell. I think most Reds would agree that a player plus 20 mill isn't the way the club will want to go. If that's the best deal on offer in Jan or next summer then I think he'll stay. If someone offers £60 mill plus then we will no doubt consider it.

LFC Fans: "SAS are a better strike duo than Rooney and RVP"

UIR: "You can't possibly say that this early in the season. Need to see them over a whole season to make a fair judgement".

UIR: "0zil is best player in the league" (despite only playing about 7 games).

You are the worst arguer ever. You constantly piss on your own points by making stupid contradictions like the one above.

You are nothing but a troll and a ****ing terrible one at that as your reasoning never ever stands up to even the smallest bit of scrutiny.

You remind me of the saying "It is better to keep your mouth closed and let people think you are a fool, than to open it and remove all doubt".

So some 100m monkey from Wales who is playing absolute **** for Madrid is a great marketing tool.... Absolute rubbish, most of the world had hardly heard of him before last year...Not many people turned up for his stage show, where he couldn't even manage a few 'keep ups' because he was too nervous.

Madrid fans know they've been ripped off, and are already venting that with the '**** Bale, we want Ozil back' chants...

We don't forget how often they're wrong though...for instance I remember quite clearly UIR proclaiming the return of the Ron only a few months ago <whistle>

We all know Suarez leaving next summer is a distinct possibility. If we don't get CL I'd bet my house on it and even if we do it could still happen. I haven't actually seen anyone saying any different...not even me after a skin full <laugh>

I think we'd keep him if we won the PL.
Don't think I'm going to put my life savings on that, though. You never know when a tenner might come in handy.

None of this is true. We are fine financially. The only debt we have is tv FSG who have said they will never ask for it back until they sell the club on for a big profit. We have one of the biggest revenue streams in the league and some of the largest sponsorships in the league due to our brand power and the size of our fan-base, particularly globally.

our only issue revenue wise is our stadium, in-particular the corporate facilities that bring in the most money in a stadium like at Utd and Arsenal. Even when the Anfield regeneration is compete and our capacity is up to 60-65,000, we still wont have the corporate facilities to rival Utd/Arse as there just isn't the capacity for them to be expanded at a renovated Anfield. However, when the Anfield is finished, so long as we haven't dropped right down the league, our revenues will be boosted to be much closer to Utd's, City's and Arsenal's then it is currently.

So, to make out were struggling financially to the point we would accept a bid for Suarez below the £55m valuation we have placed on him in the Summer is ludicrous and once again bares no weight when subjected to the tiniest bit of scrutiny.

EDIT - Also, we are by no means desperately trying to rid ourselves of any player earning very high wages like in the picture you paint above. We can and will pay any player as high a wage as they command IF we believe that player brings enough to the team to justify this outlay. FSG have always operated this way with us and the Red Sox.

Suarez is on about £80-100,000 pw. We would happily pay him that, and more if he asked for it if this meant we could continue to profit from his services to our team. He is worth massive wages so he gets massive wages and this applies to any player on the planet. If you prove or have proven you are worth £100k+ pw as a player then LFC are willing to pay it.

Johnson and Gerrard are both on this sort of salary without any attempt from us to get rid of them as we believe they are worth the money so are happy to continue paying them this. The same will now apply for Daniel Sturridge. The ones wh were paid this amount but we got rid of wasn't because we couldn't afford it, it was because they simply were not justifying that high wage (Reina, Aquilani, Cole, Downing, Carroll etc etc).

I believe we were paying 70p per £1 revenue a couple of seasons ago - this was an unacceptable level, especially for a club who weren't in the champions league.

Since then, we have offloaded big earners: Cole, Kuyt, Maxi, Aqua, Carroll, Downing to mention a few. This has brought down our wage/revenue percentage. This combined with increasing our revenue through many commercial streams.

As Toela has mentioned, our revenues are strong - this is despite a lack of domestic and continental success, without CL status and without a big stadium. It goes to show how strong our 'brand' is across the globe.
