Quite astonishing really - I don't blame Hughes though; not yet anyway Didn't we lose a few games last season to late goals? Then obviously there was the Fulham late goal and the Man U 2 late goals It's really hard at times being a Stoke fan. I sometimes wonder what it would be like to support a team that most often wins, and then I remember, all other team are s**t and I'm Stoke through and through.
Our defending is dire and it was the mere fact that we were so solid at the back that's kept us up for the past 5 years. The Huth / Shawcross partnership don't look so impressive these days!
Think thats the problem you get when you attack more yer leave gaps at the back. But I know what yer saying some of are defending at set plays recently has been woeful. On the plus side we beat brum which always nice and when was the last time we score 4 away to any opposition
It is worrying and hard to defend (pun intended) but cup games are always a bit of a lottery. I remember only just beating CP at home in extra time (because Holloway went for the win and TP sat with 10 behind the ball) and Swindon beating us 3-4 at home aswell. This dose not excuse the situation but even the great defensive coach had more than a few embarrassing cup results - at least we are through!
we dont score people moan we score 6 in 2 matches people moan, moan, moan, hughes has given me more entettainment in the last 10 games than pulis did in the last 2 seasons. we are in the quarter finals so if we avoid relegation he has equalled a normal season under pulis and yet it is so much better to watch. if we go down we go down atleast its entertaining and gets the buzz back again. everyone stop moaning and lets just get on with it. up the potterd

Altermately if we score more than we concede im happy and it got be better than all 11 players in there own half with nothin to cheer
Had my heart in my mouth on a number of occasions in the last two games, Cup games are different else we wouldn't get the cup upsets but we do need to keep playing until the final whistle, goals like buses who'd a thought it.
Well said Ricc. 6 goals in the last two games and away from home. Also penalties Walters on the bench so could not take one. Thank God! Yes I agree at 3-1 I thought a comfortable 20 minutes for the game to be seen out against 10 men. Really we should have done that comfortably. I am sure MH was unhappy about Extra Time and the fact that in both normal time and extra time we conceded late on. Simply not good enough. However, a win is a win and I appreciate I did not see the game but from comments elsewhere I have seen Wilson and Sorenson had poor games. Also KJ should have settled the matter before penalties. Anybody actually see the game?

we were "famed" for our defending because we always parked the bus, we are going to concede more goals if we are trying to score ourselves, to say we have nothing after scoring 2 at old trafford and 4 at birmingham is ridiculous
But we still conceed way too many. We need to score and not allow our opponents to score. That is what I was trying to say.
Southampton are a good attacking side too and have conceded 3 all season. I know how we are playing is a step forward from Pulis ball but I fear unless major changes are made we are heading for the trap door!
Fair point Waddo but mate I'm SURE Hughes will get it right it will take time. It takes a lot to keep defending correctly AND attack in tandum .. ie linking the midfield. Something which I don't think Pulis even knew the meaning of ( midfield). We get the balance right, we'll be OK Waddo KTF one and all.
