You are definitely doubly negative tonight then Carrabuh - most cheerful I've seen you in a while. Especially enjoyed your post on the other welcoming (new) dave thread, though I'm still scratching my head as to what "talking in binary" actually means. Maybe I'm overthinking it?

very good. I suppose I have to say guilty as charged, though I'd plead that I'm not the sole criminal on here in that regard!
I think I've got them all, let me know the post number if not. I still think against weaker teams he's a better option than Martin, as he offers more going forwards. Was completely at fault for their fourth, although we're not going to face Rooney playing balls like that every week, thankfully. Had that been the same XI we sent out against Cardiff, I'd have been hugely worried, but we've not got the squad to change 8 players without it effecting how well we play. Granted United were nowhere near full-strength either, but they did have a CB pairing who played together in a Champion's League final not so long ago, so it's not like we were playing their U9's. It's a bad day at the office, but thankfully one that doesn't really matter. The injuries are more concerning to me than the performance. I'd happily right-off the City game too if it meant we go into the games against West Ham, Newcastle and Palace with a reasonably full-strength side. Those are the type of games that our season hinges on. If by the end of the Palace game we're still in the relegation zone and don't look like scoring (and haven't got a huge sick list), then I'm going to start questioning Hughton's position.
Didn't expect to win tonight at all but wish we wouldn't keep caving in and conceding so many goals late on in games. We seem to be turning it into some sort of hobby to do so. Oh, and we're going to get an absolute -stuffing this weekend. 5-0 anyone?
Looking At that performance we may have struggled with their under 9's as well DH. I'm sure Elmander could of took out their keeper though and sneaked a goal in, you never know.
I think Man City could drop Hart and replace him with Jovetic for all the threat we're likely to pose to their goal. 4-3-4 would do the trick.
Well a good start would be restoring Rusty, Turner (I know some people don't like him but Bassong has been shifty, we need a new CB), Olsson, Tettey and Howson to the team for the Man City game. I think the last two we really missed tonight and it felt like everything we had improved on over the recent weeks had been washed away... Just not the same team that fought Chelsea and beat Stoke away. OTBC
Didn't see the game today but we have improved massively recently. Don't forget that Hughton went for a more attacking formation today and maybe that backfired on him. Howson has become such a big player for us and we certainly missed him, plus I don't believe Elmander is as good as Ricky or Hooper. At the back, I don't rate Garrido at all, so it'll be good to see Olsson reinstated and I think Turner helps too. I'm still firmly in camp Hughton but I have to say that it is becoming increasingly alarming that whenever we 'gooferet' in games, it always seems to backfire and we end up losing by three or four. It happened a lot less under Lambert who, I think anyone can tell you, was much more tactically competent. I think Hughton's biggest problem over the last 18 months or so has been finding the perfect balance between defense and attack. Last year, he was too defensive. This year, we've tried to attack more but been caught out time and time again. The weaker teams will crumble (I know Cardiff didn't, but they clearly could have) and we will start picking up points. I'm certain of it.
It definitely wasn't a more attacking formation, wingers had no freedom, front two got so isolated, midfield didn't commit was horrible to watch to be honest. So disrespectful to the 2000 that spent £46 on tickets to the game to not even give it a go. The midfield was there for the taking and we didn't want to commit, just sat back and allowed them to eventually pick us off. One of the most un inspiring line ups I've ever seen, not through personnel but the layout of the team. It was a lets admit we're not as good as man united performance, we deserved to pick up injuries through the lack of endeavour. Complete waste of time even turning up. I'm so disheartened by this no one on the pitch looked remotely interested bar wes and redmond
When you say the weaker teams, you do realize we only play Palace twice in a season ? That's not going to be enough to keep us up !
Clutching at straws: We have often been abject in the league cup and better in the league following it, especially under Lambert. I still think it will be the forthcoming run of (post Man City) games until Christmas that will define our season (minus the customary stuffing at Anfield of course).
Garrido is so crap, I really don't know why we signed him, he's clueless. If he plays on Saturday I'll cry into my beer, hopefully after last night the penny has dropped with CH.
I'm not gonna panicked from this result, it just goes to confirm a little more of what we saw last season. Either your in the team or out of it. Last season and those players who left since it, have intimated that if your not fancied then your out and it certainly looks like that dispiriting situation is being engendered again. If the guys like BJ, JG, WH et all are being made to feel second string with little encouragement that they can work their way back in then is it any wonder they fail to perform. I've said this before of these games, but when we a're clearly struggling in the league and can't score, why not minor tweets, more game time to improve the team cohesion and understanding, maybe gain some confidence, the 1 or 2 who come could then feel like they are really being given an opportunity to steak a claim and maybe the change might yield a productive change that then might work in the league. I know that we have some walking wounded and perhaps they need a degree of protection but it was also very shortly after the international break so I would rather of seen us try to make some progress. Perhaps foolishly I thought CH was beginning to make some improvements, the manner of this defeat and the resonance of it with all that was wrong with the 2012-2013 vintage makes me again very worried that he has learnt very little from his mistakes and again that he may well not be up to the job. To the happy clappers this is not a mere knee jerk response to one very poor result it is the result of the ongoing struggle of CH Norwich to pick up wins of any kind! Bah!
