Murphy has come from one of the best schools in England I know Dario thinks the world of him Wolves under a respected manager Jackett wanted him along with Blackburn unfortunately hes been slagged off by LIW who knows so mush about the game he said Smith was the worst player he had ever seen and that I didn't know nothing .Murphy will come good he has a great range of passing ability what he lacks his direction but that will come once hes bedded in.Get off the kids back!

By.the way in a recent letter from Grayson he said they had a very good scouting system I queried this with some of our signings Rachuba for example. I am now going to the Anchor at wixley for lunch full cavery £5 now that's what I call a bargain

Eire probably means that Grayson was told by Gwyn Williams that we have a huge network of scouts. Reality kicked in when BMD took over and discovered an old geezer in a tent in Tromso who sent a racing pigeon to Gwyn once per year with a Xmas card. Gullible, silly Grayson, the man who never thought he was being shafted even though Bates used him as a condom <laugh>

I must admit I thought Smith was **** but the last 2 games he looks fitter and up for it.

The last 2 games have shown he can play with the ball at his feet do, far more promising tbh

We just need to remember that it takes some players longer to acclimatise to playing for Leeds than it does for others. That said, where was he playing before he came to Leeds? Could simply have been the step up in class and the speed of the game, as well as just settling down into a new formation. That said, playing with wingbacks should help the whole team. So Smith is the obvious beneficiary, but there will be others.

Murphy was the best midfield player in league 1 last season, you don't become crap over night. Its not like its too big a step up mid table championship.Been keeping an eye on Howson and co at Norwich who was fooking awful for them last season.Last few games MOM for them, give Murphy time he will come good.

As I've said elsewhere, you don't spend £1m on cr&p. He's moved from Crew to us. Bit of a jump up in class and quality of opposition. We've also changed the formation from diamon to 352 & wingbacks. No great surprise he isn't always showing why we spent a £1m on him. But I think he will. We just need to give him time.

Well Aidy White has gone to the blunts until Jan 1st. I hope he can sort himself out otherwise I fear his days are numbered at ER. Good luck Aidy

There in need of a bit of pace down that flank and Hall clearly didnt work out. Clough has been after Aidy for a while so no surprise there <ok>

Murphy has been disappointing so far, you would hope he would be bedding in by now, but we don't play keep ball like Crewe and the pace is a step up. Lets hope he has it in the locker to adjust... Jury certainly out.

Mowatt is going to be a good footballer, but he's having to adjust to a huge step up in pace and physicality. There's no hiding place in midfield, it would be very unusual for a teenager to show real consistently, and mcd might have to use him a little sparingly to avoid fatigue and burn out.

Wakey I seem to remember that you were chuffed that we got Murphy. None of us had seen anything of him but some had heard reports. The truth is that there were plenty of clubs chasing him and he was voted into the L1 team of the season, so makes no difference what you say. You may have changed your tune, thats fine as its your view, but rather than just constantly have a go at players all the time maybe you and some of your mates should use your heads from time to time. After all we all like to think we know a bit about football, but not many of us have earned a living from it, so allow the manager to get on with it and if he fails like plenty have done, then have a go at him for his crap buys, his tactics, his excuses. Murphy cannot be a bad player all of a sudden, he's obviously adjusting to things

Would be nice if he could Doc. He has the one thing you can't teach, pace. If he can play for the blunts as a wingback, getting to the byeline & putting the ball in a good place, Warnock will have serious competition at LB/LWB. If not, probably time to let him go.

LIW, if Murphy hadn't stood out from the crowd, I doubt BMD would have agreed to pay Crewe £1m for him. It is a bit of a step up from L1 to the championship, as is the pressure caused by a significant increase in support. BMD has also changed the team's formation, for the beter in my view. Put all these things together, and maybe it explains in part why Murphy hasn't shined as much as we might have wanted him to. However and as LCW has said, you don't become cr&p overnight. We should judge him over the course of the whole season, especially as he now has competition from Tonge for his place.

If the defence keep hoofing the ball up to Smith and bypassing midfield I don't think there's much danger of Mowatt being fatigued and burnt out.

He'll still be fresh as a daisy come the end of the season <ok>

 Essex. It's hard work running forward... craning your neck to the sky, running back... Craning your neck to the sky. Kicking the ball is the easy bit. If we played Barcelona ping pong, there'd be no risk of burn out.

    so....

looks like Adam Clayton is to be sacked along with Martin Patterson from Huddersfield after Patterson alledgedly knocked him out at training.

    would we take him back?

Definitely have Clayton back. Even though we've got too many CM's already.

Maybe we could give them Green and Norris in exchange
