Thats it, nothing more to add, except post more Danish. The work has gone nuts this year, its a struggle to achieve a balance, but worth it.

Isn't that precisely what I (and Queens) have been saying?!!

Again, that's the point I'm trying to make. Posters like DT don't do that anymore, rendering the whole experience a tad zestless.

I pine for the good old days of yore.

Complete rubbish Mr Twin Set ... never phased by meeting anyone. I liked Cerny but he went a bit simple and that was that ... He must be a man could can't handle pride (not the gay festival of leather cocks before you get an stiffy) ... I have always welcomed a clear and open forum and had a few run ins with Brixton about this in the past. I haven't posted a great deal recently because: I have been really busy plus I am feeling very flat about QPR this season as I don't like Harold. I will be returning to LR this weekend to watch them against Derby and hope to meet up before hand.

Cerny, like Icarus covered himself in tar and feathers, climbed up a step ladder, self-ignited before diving head first in a fire bucket full of stale **** ... what can you do after that apart from piss on him? ... What was your excuse Fergal Sharkey? you naughty punk rocker? ... you were banned weren't you albeit incorrectly IMO

I'm in the Tramore camp here.

The people I have met face to face from this board have all been top class people and every time I meet them, my match day experience is greatly enhanced.

We have our Irish R's meet up in Kilkenny coming up soon and again, the lads and lassies from that group that I have met (not all are not606's) are top class people and a great friendly bunch. Some of the people who have committed to turning up I haven't met before so "the QPR family" will be growing yet again.

The Irish R's trip over for the Charlton game is 3/4 weeks away and I am really looking forward to it. There will be 2/3/4 people on the trip who I have never met before and I am really looking forward to meeting them and very much look forward to meeting Kilburn for the first time.

To summarise, I think the meet up's have been very beneficial to this board. To the people who haven't been to one and complain that this is a reason why this board is not so busy lately, you are entitled to your opinion but sorry but that is complete and utter rubbish. The opposite is the case. Only for the meet up's, this board would have been much quieter months ago.

He has been invited DT by a few people. He won't even acknowledge the invites.

I am sure if he did manage to turn up, his opinions would be different.

Swords, the invite to come to both Kilkenny and the Charlton match stand.

I will be in the C&S for the Derby match.

I'm going and I'll be in the Coningham Arms - circa 2.15pm if traffic doesn't hold me up. I've been in there pre-match for all but one home match this season - though from the posts, I assume that everyone else goes elsewhere this season.

Its oft said that 'you should never meet your heroes' - and I don't want to be let down.

As such, I plan to stay anonymous; I prefer it that way.

For various reasons I can't make Derby or Charlton, looks like the next home game will be Blackburn. Like DT I'm finding it hard to work up much enthusiasm this season though I find my interest wanes when I don't see live games. Can't say I've got any real heroes in the team any more, well documented that I'm less than thrilled with Harold, TF is the most interesting thing in the club at the moment.

Need to get to more games.

Maybe there is a trend? I too have seen (at long last) an increase in my workload meaning I spend less time fannying about on here. My broadband at home was also off for a while - bloody Luke Young overhead lines - but I haven't had the excitement this season, the performances have been less than convincing even if the results have gone our way. Too many players, no 'feel' for the team at the moment and zero creativity as far as I could see on Saturday.

The past few seasons have been a veritable rollercoaster but so far this year we've turned into a '1 nil to the Arsenal' sort of side and possibly that's a bit dull these days? Still, if we lose at Wigan tomorrow there will be a lot more emotion on display here....

What I think this Board is lacking at the moment is a couple of new guys to come in and shake the place up a bit. It has become a bit too predictable and as such, as an entertainment medium, it is suffering. When you have the same old faces (or Usernames!) all the time, is it any wonder that the place has become a little insipid? And I do believe that knowing the person in "real life" would naturally make you behave somewhat different towards that poster when interacting with them on here, particularly when an argument is running. In fact, I think it would be impossible not to. Its the most normal thing in the World by the way. I'm not knocking it for a second. I would be no different. Still, it makes it nonetheless a reality - at least in my opinion.

Stroller has been a great addition to the place and it's intelligent, likeable guys like him that are the glue that hold this place together. But it also needs an ungentlemanly type of rogue that has no inhibitions and isn't afraid to churn it up a bit, if for no other reason than to keep the place interesting. A brand new couple of posters like this, with no history nor baggage on this Site would do the place the World of good. Okay, Cerny went a bit too far. But someone fresh with no fears about stepping on a few toes would ignite this joint like you wouldn't believe. Imagine someone new coming in and having a go at COL's ideas, with all the passion that that bloke has? Just vision the arguments with Stan lobbing in one of his trademark one-liners that cut right to the bone. It would be a football Forum but one with drama and excitement attached. You'd soon find yourself unable to go to work or take your break without having to log on first and see what happened next. It was like that once but alas no more.

I have found down the years that its only when you poke ever so slightly at one or two individuals that you see their true capabilities flourish. And what could be better than a couple of new posters that would spark a few sleeping giants on here into life? Because believe me, during the times of the great debates on here, the depth of passion and knowledge from you lot was something to behold. I make no hesitation in saying it but there are some fellows on this Board who's writing is as good, enthralling and mind-blowing as any professional authors I've ever come across. But crucially, it is only released when someone has got a bee in their bonnet over something someone else has said and whether the trigger is genuine or manufactured it is only of secondary importance because either way, the butterfly is freed for all to enjoy.

How do we get such characters to join up? I've no idea but what I do know is that we need them. And we need them now.

(P.S. Fingi, you're a top bloke but what I was saying went over your head mate. I'm not talking about how great it is getting to know people from this Board. I've no doubt its a wonderful thing. What I'm talking about is this Board and nothing else. The interaction on this Forum and nothing else. The dynamics of this medium and nothing else.)

Why are you so obsessed with antagonism? I really don't understand why you want to cause friction and arguments among the fans of the same team that you support. In fact, it's quite a bizarre concept. There are plenty of other QPR forums out there. I'm sure one of those would be able to fulfil your needs.

An excellent, well crafted post Swords Hoopster. I agree totally.

Just look at the political spectrum in France - at one end of the scale the communists, at the other Jean-Marie Le Pen's Front National Party.

Both are regarded by some with utter disdain and disgust, yet they have their rightful place in a democracy, together with a voice that the public can chose to listen to or not.

Similarly, the contrast - the light and shade of opinions - is vital to keeping this board alive.

Thanks for that Nines but I think you are doing yourself a dis-service.
This board would have evolved with or without Brix (RIP) and his passing only helped speed up what was inevitable. The evolutiion and toning down of some of the passion through meeting fellow posters.
I for one think its good to meet fellow posters and loved every minute of meeting our great bunch down in Melbourne.
I think Nines (& Roller) you do a fantastic job and whilst you may feel you are living in the great mans shadow, I for one dont believe that. I think he chose the 2 best cut out for the job and you have proven him correct. Not forgetting NUTS, we have 3 of the best mods on any forum and I think you guys should take some credit ( and a bow if you wish) for the way you run this board.
There's alwasy going to be the odd complaint, its what we do as supporters and posters, but you guys do a great job.
Keep it going, we're all (well mainly all!) behind you <cheers>

Dont worry mate, Adel will be back very soon and things will liven up again I'm sure.
I reckon our mods are the one who contacted him and blackmailed him to move for a couple of months, just so they could have a bit of a rest !!<laugh>

What the **** are you talking about? You want us to seek out Nazis and Trotskyists to add 'colour' to the board? A more inappropriate and inept analogy I struggle to think of. This place isn't about freedom of speech, radical dialectic or the struggle to govern a country. Its a club where people who share a common interest can discuss it, and anything else they want, within a clear set of mutually agreed rules. If Swords and yourself find this boring, prosaic or overly restrictive, and would rather be bantering with intellectual Titans like Cerny, I'm sure there are other places that more accurately meet your needs, as Nines points out.

I don't know what you and Swords hope to achieve by going on about how boring the board is to the very posters I presume you think are boring.
