Why would Nastasic clear the ball out for a throw in to then allow Chelsea to regain possession and apply pressure? In the last minute of the game Nastasic was correct to head the ball back to Hart; if City are in possession what threat do Chelsea pose? Why Hart would run out, when a simple header into his arms would have been sufficient, is beyond me. If Hart had stayed on his line Nastasic would have been able to safely pass the ball back to Hart, who could have either slowed the game down and see out the draw, or allowed City to start one last attack in search of the win.

I'm going to say that it was mostly Hart's fault but I still think the defender had enough time to see him coming and do something different. So maybe about 60/40.

Just looked at the form of Stoke...in their last six games, their only win was against Tranmere. In our last six games, the only game we didn't win was the draw against ManU. This is getting scarey now.

I take it you mean scary from the point of view that Saints might actually win and you're starting to get nervously excited at the prospect..? :)

More can hardly believe it to be true. Lawro will probably plump for Stoke because they have to win sometimes....seems to be how his brain works.

Tbh, I'm quite happy for Lawro to keep coming up with reasons for Saints to lose because... the other team must win sometime. It may be that he turns out to be right occasionally. Nobody goes to Stoke and gets an easy game. Personally, I'm hoping we repeat our part of the scoring from last season, but without the reply. :)

Just wondering if The FA are going to be taking any action against Amorebieta for punching Lovren in the arse? Haven't seen anything and seems a bit odd he's getting away with it!

I agree, but perhaps it's because Lovren didn't make a fuss. They praised him for that on MOTD.

Doesn't seem like it, which is disappointing. I don't think "not making a fuss" should make any difference.

I see Pellegrini is getting mighty close to choosing his second choice keeper, Pantilimon over Joe Hart, for ManC's next PL match. Normally, this wouldn't be of interest, but Hart is the No.1 England keeper, so the repercussions could reverberate through.

Joe Hart has been axed from the Manchester City line up for the Norwich game.

Not surprising. I still don't think he was entirely to blame for Chelsea's winner but he's been in pretty sub-par form for a long time now.

I would say it was bound to happen, and if it was any other keeper for any other club/country it wouldn't be an issue, but the other night I mentioned that ManC's second keeper had had a very good game and that it wouldn't surprise me if Pelegrini chose him over Hart, for a few games while Hart gets his head sorted out. Pelegrini is a pragmatist and is doing what is best for ManC, not necessarily for Hart, although it probably will do him good, or for England. And Pantilimon deserves a shot anyway.

I think his confidence is shot to pieces. Being dropped won't help of course, but I doubt his manager feels he has much choice. And of course, we know all about what happens when a keeper's blunders start costing vital points...

Hart hasn't been great for the last 14 months to be honest. He had a decent season when City won the league, but since then he has been pretty average. Mistakes are made by every player, unfortunately though, when a keeper makes one, it usually ends up in a goal.
