Well, you have to remember the KC wasn't designed as a sports stadium, it was designed as an events stadium, whatever that means. Due to some architects vision of some sort of place where opposing fans would mingle happily it wqs built with a concourse where you walk round where the toilets and catering didn't match up in the areas where away fans would be. You may not agree with this, but rugby fans were consulted more than football ones and there was talk of fans swapping ends and other nonsense. No one aeems to have considered we may have full crowds with nearly 3,000 away fans. Because of the areas not matching up for toliets etc we cannot easily adjust the areas for away fans reassuring in more segregation than necessary and daft situations where we have seen home fans not being able to get tickets whilst there were up to 2,000 empty seats. Of course our bone-headed police don't help. I know someone who was one of a group invited on a tour around the KC before it opened and it was the first thing he commented on. Compare Reading, a similar sized ground, where they are able to make do with one aisleway with a fence as segregation with no unused seats and get within 50 of a capacity. Or the Emirates, a lot larger ground where they can do the same.
Agreed, I have been to 1 home game and 12 away games in the last 12 months ( Live in Berkshire) and I struggle to miss supporting as a home fan.
Stadium footprint is very tight- the flow of people leaving creates a gridlock nearly all the way round it. One of the main reasons is the dumb ignorant police / h & s turds who administer the stadium and built a Berlin Wall behind the N/E corner causing chaos near the walkway to Argyle st.
