Eye up Peeps, another week, another loss!!! What makes the defeat a little harder to swallow is that Huddersfield were without leading scorer James Vaughan. Could it have been a lot worse, or were we unlucky to lose? Is Marius Zaliukas the answers to our prayers. The only reason why he is leaving Hearts is for financial reasons. Could he be the bargain of the season? I don't know much about Scottish football, but I would imagine most Championship clubs would be stronger then most Scottish premier clubs (not Celtic or Rangers), so am wondering whether Zaliukas will hit the ground running or have to up his game? White is joining Sheffield Utd on loan. If they were to offer us £300k in the January transfer window, should we take it? Was the Birmingham match a flash in the pan? Were Birmingham that dire? Lastly on a controversial note, we had a newbie that joined our board from another board yesterday, and instantly just like Clive did not receive the warmest of welcomes, which I can understand. The first question is, should we give them the benefit of the doubt until they do something wrong? Secondly, on a forum, surely controversy causes more debate (yes or no) and thirdly, at the end of the day, we are all here for the same common cause, Leeds Utd, though have differing views about how we get the best out of the team (yes or no)
Morning Elland and lads. Scottish premier is weaker than the championship but Hearts are a decent club so Zaliukas may be a decent capture. With a contract till end of season, not much to lose. A lot of comments I've read on Huddersfield game suggest a lack of effort from some of our lads again while Huddersfield seemed to bust a gut. If true, that's not acceptable especially in a derby match. As for Birmingham, they were dire but we were very good on the day. Don't think it will be a flash in the pan but depends how more flashes we get this season. As for suspensions from board, I don't agree at all with them. It doesn't bother me much cos I didn't bother interacting with Clive and likely won't with clive2, mainly cos their threads are nonsense. Where do you draw the line with suspensions? Surely more diverse opinions only add to any forum
Morning guys A little surprised, upset and dumbfounded how we could have gone backwards after the brum game. Huddersfield are not QPR but we always manage to shoot ourselves in the foot. What went wrong and who's to blame. Is it the manager for team selection, tactics or is it down to individual mistakes? Blue is a tool and loves winding everyone up with his innane posts and bad grammer and spelling which justs pushes the knife in a little more. He is one of the reasoins I hardly post on the other place. Marius would be a great signing as he's a seasoned international and everyone wants him. So worth a punt especially when Harry wants him at QPR
Morning Eire. What about the big two in Scotland. Would they both dominate the Championship? Interesting other comments...
Morning Doc, it is nice to see us being able to capture certain players which are under the spot light, and wanted by other clubs, ie Marius, Dexter and Murphy.
Celtic would skate the championship and probably settle to at lease mid table in the pl. financially, they're very well set up. The current rangers team is a long way short but not for long as they are only buying players good enough to get them promoted. They'll have a different squad in two years. Put it another way, no championship team would win the Scottish premier either
Brian Mac seems to be imune from getting a pasting from our fans at the moment. Our record under him recently is very, very poor but he still gets a good press and is still on honeymoon with the fans. The reasons for this I suppose is that he tells the fans the truth and seems to wear is heart on his sleeve just like we do. After years of reading and listening to dreary comments from managers who like to blame players or anyone except themselves. How much longer has BMD got before we start to turn on him and his tactics, team selection, not knowing what his best team is etc. I believe we have the strongest team since our league one promotion team, and on paper should be knocking on the door of the top 6. Is the managers honeymoon period being extended because we got rid of Bates and his robbing and asset stripping. However we dont seem to have moved on in regards of finances even if the new blokes have a different PR machine, we're still skint and in debt and struggling.
Morning all meme's going the same way as Clive. I don't suffer fools easily and as much as the board is all about different opinions all our hard work over the last few years are not going to pot just to entertain one poster. I hope meme proves us all wrong and contributes something more than he did on JA or i'm nerfing him. Anyone disagree with that, feel free to PM me.
Morning all. Meme is just a WUM. Nothing more to add. Saturday would have been a different result had Murphy taken his chance and Pearce not made an arse of defending a simple situation. Raplace Murphy with Tonge and MZ Pearce with MZ. Should be able to do better against Yeovil. At least we're creating plenty of chances and nice that Blackstock scored. On White to the Blades, game time for White to play as a wingback, or a likely move away from Leeds in the JTW? Doc, I think fans will turn on BMD if we lose and revert to hoofball. If we can use Smith more creatively than just lumping it up to him, I think we may have unearthed a little.... make that not so little gem.
Boggers I agree with that, although at the start of the season if you did a comparison between us and Burnley you would have had Leeds as easily favourites. Our manager is better than their manager and their team is not as good as our team especially after losing their best striker to QPR. What actually happened is that the so-called worst manager created a team ethic and spirit, that has blown all teams away this season, making them top of the league and yet again beat the favourites for the league. In Sean Dyce they have an English young manager that has done really well everywhere he's been, and is making our manager look bad. He's got a team that scores for fun and has a great team spirit as well as being well organised. Burnley are this seasons outside package and proves the point that you dont need milliuons to spend if you have a good manager. Burnley look like taken a top position which means it will become even hardere for us or anyone else as the teams you would expect are all up there except Bolton (Poor Dougie) and all their parachute payments ....... we stand no chance unless we can start a run of wins that takes us to Xmas unbeaten. We're 15-points off the top so o chance of catching them but only 9-points of the bottom ....
Fair points all round Doc. I would though that the one thing Burnley haven't had to cope with was the Warnock legacy - a whole chunk of players and a style of playing that needs time to change. BMD is getting there, but it's taking time. Whether these two latest signings are the missing link that will propel us up the league only time will tell. But even if we don't make top 6 this season, I think we're going to be well placed for next season so long as we can hold on to Byram & the other key players at the same time as moving on those who will no longr figure - Norris to name but one.
Fair points Boggers, but accepting that unless youre meme Warnock was a crock of ****, surely the so-called crap players should have come out of the blocks running, tryiung to show the fans and the manager that they are good players and just handles wrong by Warnock. Most of these crap players are on top money and been at bigish clubs etc, but are in fact a waste and a drain on our resources. BMD has also had the benefit of Dawson, Byram, Mowatt, Murphy (£1m) Hunt, Smith etc, so maybe half a team that Warnock didn't have
Dawson isn't quite up to the riggers of Championship footy yet unfortunately. But I fully expect him to go out on loan soon to get game time and step up from development squad to L2 or or top non league side. He also needs to bulk up a bit. On the others you've mentioned, they'll all make a valuable contribution as we progress through the season. Hunt hasn't worked out, but Blackstock to support Ross, Poleon, & Smith will all push each other. What has changed and we will see the benefits is the move from a diamond formation to 352 with wingbacks. Having Byram back only now makes that possible, as I don't think it would have worked with Peltier at RWB. Hopefully this Saturday's home fixture against Yeovil will see a return to winning ways.
Amazingly, after all these disappointments we are in 10th and only a handful of points outside the playoffs. Just shows you we could easily make the playoffs if we could ever get it together for more than one game. Hope we beat Yeovil - they had a lucky win the other day (based on the goals, anyway, obviously did not see more than that) - so hopefully their good luck is used up for a game or two
2020, if we can't beat Yeovil at home given the way we are now playing with a more attacking approach, there's something seriously wrong. This really is one game whereby we could tear Yeovil apart. Alternatively, Leeds being Leeds, we won't see a repeat of the Brum game and we'll scrape home 2-1 in the final minute. My cup is still over half full, but we're all coping with the effects of an over-inflated blow job in London at the moment, and the journey home is likely to be only marginally better than the journey in this morning!!
I would not belittle Sean Dykes but he was left with a decent squad by the previous manager plus the return of Ings who has been a revelation .The blip for Burnley is like us the have to sell their best players so the Burnley fans will not be looking to Jan without worrying about the destination of young Ings .Vokes I always thought had underachieved after he left Bournemouth but the lad has stuck at it and now he his showing his true worth. We always seem to knock our own players too much Pearce has done well this season so he makes a mistake so did Joe Hart but that doesn't make him a bad goalkeeper . No doubt we will have the usual idiots on saying Smith is useless Leeds 60 doesn't know what hes talking about give the lad a chance hes no Ibromovich but hes better than Carroll in my opinion and certainly not injury prone either. As for blue meme hes just a laugh a minute who loves MON and Warnock although for the life in me I cant think why especially the latter
We had 4 shots on target and scored two, they had 4 and scored 3 not often will you get a 3-2 scoreline when there were only 8 on target. We haven't gone backwards since the Brum game Doc - We are still exactly the same, against Brum we upped the game a little add to this the fact Brum were poor and then add a sprinkle of luck and it equals a flattering scoreline. Against Brum Kenny was chipped and Lee's cleared off the line then they hit the post, that could have been 3-2 and game on. Add me to the idiots list then as Smith is poor
Am no wum. What have I ever said that makes me a wum? Say it how it is. Amazingly, after all these disappointments we are in 10th and only a handful of points outside the playoffs. ... And that's after only 9 points out of 27 points. why we should sack him now and save the season, he's making the team worse then it really is, does not even know his best 11. Get mon the buzz that will go around will be amazing, we go up like a rocket ship. You have to be worried when the team turns up for a game on TV but then don't for one that's not. That's down to the manager.
