After a result that left Leeds fans stunned and ecstatic, it's time to see if the Mighty Whites can reproduce that level of performance on the road against Yorkshire rivals Huddersfield. Despite the fact that Birmingham were quite simply awful in the first half at Elland Road, Leeds were playing good expansive football that would have troubled a team playing at their best. On the other hand, Huddersfield come into this on the back of a defeat at Leicester in an eventful 2-1. Both sides contributed an own goal, before James Vaughan was dismissed in the 83rd minute for violent conduct. This is always a lively fixture, and the history favours Huddersfield with 25 wins to Leeds' 18 in the league. The last time the fixture was played at the Galpharm in December 2012, Leeds ran out 4-2 winners. Up until last weekend's 4-0 defeat of Birmingham, that fixture was the last time Leeds had scored more than twice in a League fixture.

    Huddersfield Town

    Top Scorers (League)

    James Vaughan...9
    Adam Clayton...1
    Adam Hammill...1

Huddersfield manager Mark Robins is dealt a massive blow as striker James Vaughan is suspended for this one following his dismissal against leicester last week. The striker has been responsible for 9 of their 14 goals this season, leaving a gaping hole for one of the other strikers to step into. Last weekend also saw Leeds old boy Adam Clayton dropped to the bench, with Goburn coming into the team, though he may well get a crack at his old club for the derby. Ashley (Jazz) Richards missed out against Leicester following a calf injury picked up on international duty, but he should be available for selection here.

    Leeds United

    Top Scorers (League)

    Ross McCormack...5
    Matt Smith...3
    Luke Varney...2

Leeds' confident performance against Birmingham on Sunday didn't bring with it any fresh injury worries or suspensions. El Hadji Diouf was given compassionate leave for last weekend's fixture, but will be available for selection once again, though he will probably feature on the bench for this fixture. Noel Hunt was conspicuous by his absence even from the bench for the last game, however nothing has been mentioned of an injury leaving fans wondering whether it is simply based on his recent bad form.

    Durham's Prediction

It's been 5 games since Huddersfield registered a win in the league, combine that with the fact they're without Vaughan and our boys will be on a high for this, and I'm optimistic. I'm going to go for a 2-0 win, picking up where we left off. I was going to say 2-1 and that it'll be a close run affair, but I'm not sure they will score.

Team wise, I see no reason to change what worked last weekend. Every player looked like they deserved their place, and I'm happy to finally see that 3-5-2/5-3-2 being employed by Brian. Byram looks fantastic as a RM going forward, and I can see him causing a lot of problems for their defence. Smith looked like a completely different player last weekend, and the pairing of Ross and him has a lot of promise.

OK, over to the not606 faithful. Let's hear score predictions and what team you think will go out.

Thanks for this LiD. The result will depend entirely on which Leeds team that turn up; the one that couldn't knock the skin off a rice pudding or score in a brothel or hit the side of a cow with a banjo, or the one that was only 3-0 up at half time last Sunday and could easily have been 4 or 5 up. Me, I think BMD has finally found the right formation with 3 CBs, 2 wingbacks, and Ross given a free role to do what he wants in support of Smith.

3-1 to Leeds as a starter. Could potentially be a cricket score.

Loving your match threads Durham. Based on our midfield last week, would Clayton get into our squad?

Clayton wouldn't get into this squad. Austin is our box to box player, & Brown is the steel in midfield should it ever be required.

Cheers guys, as long as you enjoy them, I'll keep making them <cheers>

I'm not sure Clayton would have gotten into this midfield if we were picking the team today. If he'd been with us the whole time since he left, I think he would have formed an integral part of the midfield though, and might have developed a bit more as a result.

I'm standing by my lineup, Blackstock coming on off the bench, I don't think he'll come straight in for Smith or McCormack

I would probably pick the same line-up, weirdly, I'd be tempted to take Smith out of the team as I just don't think he will be as effective against Huddersfield, could be proved wrong though. If Smith is dropped though I reckon it'll be for Hunt or Poleon and not for Blackstock

As for Clayton, I think he would get into our team even today. He's better than Murphy imo. and if he had been here we probably wouldn't have bought Murphy or if we did we wouldn't have seen Mowatt get the same chance in the team. I think selling Clayton was such a bad mistake.

Have to disagree with your para 2 Josh. Clayton should have run the midfield for us on a regular basis. He was supposed to have been a legend in the making. Unfortunately, he only showed glimpses of what he could do. That he's now plying his trade with Huddersfield shows that his career really has stalled dramatically. So thanks but no thanks should he ever come up for consideration for us to bring him back to ER.

2-1 to Leeds. Matt Smith (32) and Noel Hunt (79) after Adem Hammil scores on (43). Put your bets on, I got this.

I'm going super sub Glory, hence the (79). Unless he is suspended or injured and I am completely out of touch.

I don't normally back my own team but I have On this occasion at 7/4 wWith hudders being favourite! I just think Vaughan is a massive loss for the an we will just have too much for them. Also loving the New formation seems quite rare for a team to adapt to a completely new system as quickly as we have

Great match thread. I've a feeling this will be an anti climax after last week with it either being scoreless or one goal settling it. Don't care once we get it

Super thread ... same starting lineup that thrashed Brum ... Blackstock off the bench once 3-0 up ... think White will flourish in this formation ... Clayton not as good as Murphy or Mowatt ... Smith to score again ... MOT!!

Our allocation sold out, and failed to get a ticket in our end from usual suspects so has anyone got a working video feed lined up?

Got tickets for charlton. Shocked if as someone said yesterday we have sold that allocation already

We're at that age Eire that because of so many new dawns and then let downs over the years we've become a bit cautious. I hope we get a win today, play well and start a mini run. As you know all my lads are over for the match, so hope there's a good result for them, bit worried that they've been on the duty free vodkas since 6............<yikes>
