Norwich striker Ricky van Wolfswinkel is rated as "touch and go" to return from a foot injury. Fellow forward Johan Elmander should be available for selection after recovering from a thigh injury. Martin Peters may return after a lengthy time out of the game. Cardiff City will be without Peter Noone because of an injury he suffered playing for the club's development side on Monday. Andreas Cornelius has begun training again but is not fit enough for a first-team return. Only one point separates these two sides in the Premier League but it's an important one, with Cardiff just above the dotted line that signifies the relegation zone and Norwich just below it. Victory for either at Carrow Road will see them shoot up the table but wins have been in short supply for both sides in recent weeks. Instead, losing has become an unwelcome shared habit and both suffered heavily at the hands of London giants a week ago. Mark Lawrenson "For different reasons, the future of Norwich manager Chris Hughton and Cardiff boss Malky Mackay has been questioned in the last few weeks and I think that will continue for whoever loses at Carrow Road on Saturday. For Norwich in particular, this is the first of a run of home games where they need to pick up some wins." The natives are getting restless at Norwich. Big money was spent in the summer, over £13m of it on new strikers Ricky van Wolfswinkel and Gary Hooper, but so far they've supplied just one league goal between them. Under-fire manager Chris Hughton has tried to reassure worried fans, pointing out that the Canaries are a point better off than a year ago when they went on to finish in 11th place. That was their best final standing in 20 years, an impressive achievement, but one that raises expectations and that can always spell trouble. While Cardiff boss Malky Mackay can rely on support from the fans, his unease comes from the boardroom. His relationship with owner Vincent Tan is delicate at best, and as foolish as it sounds his job might come under threat if Cardiff drop in to the relegation zone and get stuck there. Any sense of injustice from last Saturday's defeat at Chelsea must be forgotten about, although I doubt we'll see David Marshall bouncing the ball again to test the referee's interpretation of the Laws of the Game. The goalkeeper, like his manager, is a Norwich old-boy. Add a third in the shape of Craig Bellamy and you have a few extra reasons why Cardiff will want to come out on top at Carrow Road. Head-to-head This is the first time the sides have met in the top flight. Cardiff have a terrible record at Carrow Road, winning just twice in 22 league visits. This is the 48th meeting between the clubs. Norwich have won 26 times, twice as often as Cardiff. Norwich City Norwich have lost four of their last five league games. They have scored just six goals in eight matches so far. Six of their eight league matches have been against sides in the top half of the table going into this weekend's fixtures. The Canaries have lost successive home games in the league - they have not lost three in a row at Carrow Road since February 2006. Cardiff City The Bluebirds have managed just one clean sheet in their eight league matches so far. Cardiff come in to this game off the back of two defeats in the top flight - they have not lost three successive league games since November 2009. They have managed just 20 shots on target in the league so far this season and have allowed their opponents more shots on target than any other side in the Premier League this season (51).
Norwich fan in peace Today may be Chris Hughton's 'Waterloo', we've Man Citeh away up next followed by Wet Sham at home who we have an 'indifferent' record against, then the Geordies away. Most NCFC posters on here are still behind our manager but I'm losing patience, I reckon we should offer Malky the job personally
Its an interesting one, if we were to win today it could be the final straw for Hughton and whilst the Palace job offers no threat of MM leaving a vacancy at your club really would test how deep the VT/Moody wounds are ,obviously just a hyperthetical situation at the moment... You say you're not sure about Hughton, I've only seen one of your games this season but despite losing to Chelsea and their classless hypocritical manager I thought Norwich were excellent. You looked as likely to win the game, were going toe to toe with them and the 'difference' was £70m of subs! I expect a very tough game today. Our record at your place is pretty terrible. I'll be happy with a draw.
Marshall, Taylor, Caulker (C), Turner, Whittingham, Medel, Campbell, Odemwingie, Kim, Mutch, Theophile-Catherine.
Caulkers wasn't much of a chance but Mutch should have scored and thought he had. We're certainly letting them see too much of the ball in the middle of the park.
Mutch was very lucky not to score, Ruddy pulled a save out of the bag, how Norwich havent scored at least 3 I don't know, Marshall is having a stormer!!
