mwildcats; how are you? It seems a long time, know you've been busy. In addition to the previous on Cecil, what's happening at Stoute's. He must have a shedload of late developing 2yos yet he seems to be running nothing in these type of events at Newbury and Newmarket etc.. Has he got a touch of the virus?
Morning all, just a little update, i see sporting life is showing the going a Fakenham as good, its raining fairly heavy here and has been since around 6 this morning, and looks pretty set in.
4's widely available this morning Toppy. This race looks a minefield with so many unbeaten colts lining up on soft ground.Significant that Coolmore have supplemented him for this given their past record in the race. The horse that finished fourth to him in his maiden win was well beaten on Wednesday but tbf was dropping back from a mile to an extended 5f and seemed to get outpaced. I was quite taken with the Godolphin colt at Newbury but again hard to gauge the merit of the form. His maiden win received a boost earlier in the week with the second placed colt hosing up in the Houghton. The favourite also looked good at HQ and connections have also stumped up the £17,500 to run him. All in all muy trappy and a definite no bet but must watch heat.
EW treble: 2:20 Fakenham - Le Reve 9/1 (cheers Stick) 3:35 Newbury - Martagon Lily 13/2 9:00 Wolverhampton - Testa Rossa 8/1
Final group 1 race of the season, always throws up some good pointers for next seasons classics. I anticipate quite a bit more rain hitting Town Moor prior to the off and I can see it throwing up a surprise winner. It is a bit of a minefield as you say... but I really like the look of the Grey Gatsby. Was 2nd behind the promising godolphin horse outstrip and wasnt beaten far and that was at Doncaster over a shorter distance. Horse will therefore be familiar with the surroundings and he just strikes me as a horse who needs further and that he will be all the better for some cut in the ground. Kingston Hill who is well fancied and is also by Mastercraftsmen looks a type to do well but I fancy the less talked about the Grey Gatsby.
It's not a group one is it? I think Century was very, very taking on debut. Seems to have a lot of pace and stamina. I'm surprised there's not been more money for the horse yet so it's probably not up to the standard of their last two winners of the race. However, if he improves for the debut run I think he'll be very hard to beat. Has anyone seen a 2 year old this season that has blown you away? I've not.
Afternoon all I have took a long look at Doncaster today a coupl I do really like the chances of and 3 I have played around with looking at diffrent aspects hence small bets and a small ew lucky 31 for fun (with the odds I have picked out profit could be big lol) I have not got much time so a quick post for now and if I get time I will try to explain my reasoning which may be hard on a couple. 310 misplaced fortune 14s 345 twelve strings 10s 420 spirit of rio 40s 450 triple eight 16s 520 inglby symphany 13/2 Good luck all as usual
afternoon off (well looking after the kids) so im in front of ATR with a rather pleasant Coates du Rhone and feeling lucky 2.40 Donny Zilber EW stay frosty
40/1 looks too big for Clear Spring in the 3.10, though I suppose the ground isn't in his favour. Tempted though at that price.
Taking a chance on birdman in the 3.10. Was a class act last year as a 2 y o but not yet seen anywhere near that form this year. Likes a bit of cut so fingers crossed
would like to see DC go in but im hoping not, just so the Longsdon gravy train derails in time for the Winner Stick has up his sleeve for tomoz and we all get a good price!!! (o and Peewee) so im taking a chance on Aneyeforaneye and hope Hughesy gets a place
Simonsig has suffered a setback and won't be running in the King George: http://www.sportinglife.com/racing/news/article/465/8990683/simonsig-suffers-setback
