El Sickno may be back. PUBLISHED 07:00 24th October 2013 !!!!!!!!!!!!!! Kuban kicked off their maiden European campaign with four straight wins in qualifying, eliminating both Motherwell and Feyenoord on their way to the group stage. The Russian side parted company with coach Dorinel Munteanu earlier this month, with Viktor Goncharenko taking over the managerial reigns. The Belarusian ended a six-year stay with BATE Borisov, where he won five league titles and steered his side into the UEFA Champions League group stage three times – also becoming, at the age of 31, the youngest ever coach in Europe's premier competition. TEAM NEWS The Swans are expected to make changes to the side that beat Sunderland in the Premier League last Saturday, with Ben Davies already ruled out (ankle). Ashley Williams is still ruled out, while Pablo Hernandez may well return after missing the last eight games.
Nothing like putting yourself under pressure or just a belief in your talents ? "Ex-Liverpool striker Djibril Cisse says he will score three goals against Swansea City in the Europa League â one for each of his children. Cisse, 32, now plays for Russian Premier League side Kuban Krasnodar, who take on Swansea at the Liberty Stadium on Thursday evening. Speaking to reporters ahead of the tie, Cisse was asked whether he would dedicate a goal to his children. Cisse is quoted in Russian newspaper Sport Express as responding: âOf course, but I don't have just one. âI have one son and two daughters and I love them all. That means I will have to score three.â Cisse was also asked to name Kuban's best players and highlighted defender Aleksei Kozlov and goalkeeper Aleksandr Belenov as the team's stand-out performers of the season so far. Swansea are clear favourites for the match, having already taken a maximum of six points from their first two Europa League matches against Spanish club Valencia and St Gallen of Switzerland. Kuban, meanwhile, have lost both their opening fixtures and are bottom of Europa League Group A. Cisse played for Liverpool between 2004 and 2007, scoring 13 goals in 49 league appearances. The former France international also had spells with Sunderland and Queens Park Rangers, where he was released by mutual consent in June." A huge success at QPR ?although no one at that club exactly covered themselves in glory
I would say that's clearly an off-the-cuff response and banter with the reporters. He may not even play...
Agreed. Here' the interview. Seems like a nice guy actually.
I like Cisse. Got bags of talent but always seemed to go for glory rather than set up a team mate. Sometimes it comes off, sometimes not. If he plays he'll be a threat for sure. Depends if he's 'up' for it. He always seems to be affected by his mood imo.
I want us to win - don't care about the score as long as it's comfortable. I want us to start well and improve. I don't want a nervy second half. I don't want us putting up with Stoke style tactics from Krasnodar. I'm not suggesting Kuban will play rough but I don't want to see us beaten up again. Therefore i'd be having Tremmel Rangel Chico Amat Taylor Routledge Canas Leon Nathan Michu Bony With (if fit) Shelvely - to play Poz - to play JdG - to play Lamah - keep Tiedalli company Tiendalli - keep Lamah company Vorm - to keep Lamah and Tiendalli company Vazquez - if Bony isn't hitting the heights by 55 -60 minutes Monk - to come on if leadership is an issue Time to go
I'll go with 3-0 as well, would set Shelvey and Hernandez, Bony as well for a very important game soon
Enjoy and see you after the match , where we can dissect De Guzman's performance (only kidding Norway )
