Nice to see the club keep Raylor involved. Difficult to see a return for him. First suggestions were post Xmas but others are saying he won't play this season <yikes> Killer blow for the lad if so. It would be nice to think he can get back to his normal level but 2 years is a long time in football. Due to go under the knife again, wish him all the best.

I like the way Pards is handling him in that he's being kept involved via the scouting team.
That shows a lot of class and great people management from St Alan.

Pity he couldn't get one 'over the wall' on Sunday.

I reckon he's finished as a player which is a shame.

Was never the quickest anyway but will have lost another yard of pace due to this injury. I just don't see a position for him anymore, we have too many left backs (two of which are better than him in that position). He's not good enough to play anywhere in midfield for us so it only leaves RB. Debuchy seems to be finally showing signs of adjusting in that position so that leaves him as a back up right back at best.

but if his scouting the opposition gets 'one over the makems', then that will do just as good

remember watching him in the reserves playing for Wigan, I think it was his first on nearly first game back from a broken leg
when he went in for a tackle and broke his leg again.......... he still came back good though
but you do wonder how much more his body can take

Scored some cracking goals for us. And always felt we'd have an ace up our sleep with him on the bench. He delivered one terrific cross, corner or freekick every game that would lead to a very good chance on goal. Real shame his injury isn't healing like it should. Still hope to see him back in a shirt. Good lad, hes NUFC through and through.

There is undoubtedly still a place for him here because of his versatility. Either full back (best on the right for me), right across the midfield. It all comes down to whether his body will allow him.

I agree that his place is as substitute right back. He was really only an emergency left back, he just did a decent job there. I can only imagine this is the reason we didn't keep Danny Simpson, nor bothered to invest in that area - that our glorious owner decided two right backs was more than sufficient for a club of Newcastle's size and ambition. Didn't really matter to him that one of those right backs not only couldn't walk but would be lucky to play football again....

MA - "Alan, if he's on the payroll, he's taking up a space."

AP - "But he can't actually use his right leg?"

MA - "Nope, not interested. How much did we pay him last week? 10 Grand? Fack me. He should be in the reserves at least"

AP - "Mike, he can't play football!!!!"

MA - "Well, what are you paying him for? Get Joe to sell him"

AP - "But, but, but......yes boss"

Love the guy, I really do. Hopefully there'll be a few 'Over the Wall' chants at the weekend in his honour

Good to hear. Creative use of the crocked player(no disrespect to Raylor, hope he gets back soon)
