As much as I don't like to deride other teams fortunes as there but for the grace of god etc, I am quite enjoying seeing their name at the bottom of league 1 due to the abuse some of their moronic fans handed out to my then eight year old boy on the tube after the playoff game. Shame
Nothing but praise for their fans after the play off-feel gutted at how the team has fallen so low and how quickly
Every club has some idiots and there will always be instances of this, but most Bristol City fans seemed to behave impeccably that day.
My experience of Bristol fans that day was a good one, all the ones I met in London were great before and after the playoff game. The only teams I like seeing fail are Scunthorpe and Grimsby. It's funny, especially considering where Grimsby were 10 years ago in comparison to us. Though seeing Leeds or Man Utd do badly is nice.
I don't know why but I have a soft spot for Scunny and Grimsby now. I used to hate Scunthorpe when I was a kid, it was drilled into me at the time since they were our rivals.
My problem with them was before the game! Everyone I came across was way too over confident! Bordering on cocky! Unless I was just unlucky with my pub choice?
I always found bristol city fans to be quite friendly whenever i have met or spoke to them on here its the rovers fans i think are a bit arrogant
Never ever seen them as rivals – used to hate Grimsby though and still could (if I could be bothered with a non-league club). Scunthorpe absolutely despise us, remarkably even more than Grimsby I'd say. However, even though I don't feel the same (I'm indifferent to Scunthorpe by the way), I do think a soft spot/'ah bless 'em approach is correct for a Hull City fan to have.
Scunny have found their proper level now thankfully instead of their having delusions of grandeur following our rise up the leagues - they, as a mate often said, were like **** on our shoes (couldn't get rid of them) As for Bristol City agree with most on here that their supporters were top notch that day in May 2008.
Saw hide nor hair of them all day. But previous encounters teaches one that they deserve their current 'punishment'. Ditto Sheffield. Coventry's 'plight' doesn't trouble me either.
Lived in Bristol for a year. Great city. I lived down Gloucester Road which was more Rovers than City. Saw us verses Rovers at Eastville. 1-1 as I recall. Ground was a right dump.
Only time I went away to Bristol I'm sure the game was played in Bath. I forget now, but think Greg Strong was sent off - am I right (Bath) or was it in Bristol?
That was at the Memorial Ground, Bristol rugby club's ground that Rovers have used since 1996. They were in Bath for 10 years before that.

I'll add my voice to the Brizzle boys behaving fantastically after the play off win. I remember walking down "wembley way" or whatever it is called after the game and a bunch of them were on either side of the footpath clapping the Hull fans and wishing us the best.
