Reported in the Independent that Colo will miss 8 games and will return after Christmas.

Didn't think he'd have been out that long. He isn't going to Argentina to recuperate is he?

That should keep his wife happy.

Best to wait for official confirmation. It would have to be a really bad groin tear to keep you out for 8 weeks.

Colo and Jonas both back in Argentina, I wonder if they'll be thinking of the game on Sunday and wishing the lads well.

What do you think of the odds for Sunday Hacky?

    Selected PP Match odds:
    Newcastle win @ 7/4
    Newcastle clean sheet @ 5/2

Don't think PP are being very generous with theirs.

Don't fancy those too much. I'll have to see what 5-1 is, Krul to get the first.

I thought Colo had been instructed to return to Newcastle for assessment? That was the last update from the club I heard. He should be here for the derby, fit or not. Maybe I'm a bit old fashioned but that's what I would expect of my captain for a derby.

Yes, I think we have to look long and hard at our central defensive options. All this talk of a centre forward is fine, but centre back is just as important. Willo's as fragile as, well, willow - once he fcks up (which he will eventually, he's not a Prem player), then we could be in trouble. Saylor's not as good as certainly he thinks he is, and MYM whilst talented has a lot to learn and not a lot of time to learn it in.

Is it any coincidence that our defense is amongst the worst in the league, whether Colo is in it or not? Seems to be a bit of a misnomer that we're "sorted" in this department. Ahead of Ola Toivonen joining in January, I'd sooner we tie up a deal for as good a 'leader' type player as we can. A Jagielka/Dawson/Lescott type would be a massive step towards being a regular top 10 club.

So hang on, who the hell is going to be in our defence come Sunday?

Willo and maybe Taylor if he's fit? Otherwise Willo and Dummett...

Not good, not good at all.

Should give you at least 5-1 for that!

Dummet might get a game even if Taylor and Willo are fit.

This is a good opportunity for Dummet.

We have the big powerful CB in willo so a smaller quicker CB should be ok next to him.
