Nando heads us in front after 5 mins, great start !

now just shouldn't do a Basel.

Moreover, this time we don't have Luiz and have Terry!

Definitely can't ship 2, can we?

Great result tonight! Nowhere near our best, but a really professional performance. Both Torres' goals were well taken - he can't be stopped in Europe at the moment! Eden's form continues, fantastic run from almost the half-way line to put the icing on.

Great performance and great night for results.

Arsenal one step closer to Europa if they lose in Dortmund (unless Napoli somehow don't beat Marseille at home) and that would hamper any proposed title challenge significantly.

Basel drop points which gives us margin for error.

If we beat Schalke at home we only need a draw in Switzerland to secure qualification really. It's all back in our hands but were going to face a much stronger Schalke team than this depleted outfit back in SW6.

I rarely pay him a compliment (and for good reason in my book) but Torres was bloody brilliant tonight. Exactly what we're after from a striker, held it up well, brought others into play, bullied the opponent, right positioning, quick to reach the ball and bagging a brace.

Defensively spot on too, as Schalke were in control for a good portion. Jose seems to have whipped the back four into shape and taught them how to contain opponents again! All in all, great win and can't wait for Sunday.

Oh, and if we're in crisis, I dread to think what we'll be like when we get going!

Sunday is huge. Sky, The Times, Daily Mail, Daily Mirror and The Sun will not be happy if we beat City, they'll have nothing else to talk/write about other than player X not playing.

that is what i thought, he was dallying too long and would have screwed up like zillion others he did!

is this second or third time he has scored more than one for us?

Lucky?? Lucky he didn't put a hole in the net !! One step round the goalie and bingo !! Thought Hazard should have passed to Torres as well, lucky he scored, cause he could easily have fluffed it.

Brilliant result last night, not expected at all and would have taken a draw before hand. Now we are in a brilliant position to qualify. Hopefully a couple more wins and we can top the group too. Very helpful that Basel drew at home too.

As long as we don't lose at home to Shalke we'll be all right.

2 well taken goals from Torres and unlucky not to get a hat trick. Well played son. Looks like he's playing with less presure and looks our best forward at the moment for me.

Unlike last season, other results are going in our favour. Basel are just a defeat away to Schalke from being out of the run in. Beat Schalke at home and we'll top the group.

A draw would be enough as well as long as we win our last 2 given the head to head rule.

both Torres' second & Hazard either of them would have easily fluffed it..

Torres with his history highly susceptible

I know but a win means we don't have to go to Basel and win and probably don't have to beat Steau at home either though that game should be a gimme. We just need one win from Schalke or Basel, probably neither if Steau can hold Basel again.
