Watching the news and it is very rare I agree with Tories.

John Major wants to tax the greedy energy companies excess profits.

I agree, but would also add you shouldn't have sold them off to foreigners in the first place.

Cameron had a go at Facebook for changing the rules where people can post X rated videos, including beheading's.

Totally agree, I don't do Facebook but know lots of families that do.
I can see no reason for allowing this sort of thing on a social media site.
From what I have seen the majority using Facebook are young'uns.

Can they find the X rated videos elsewhere online?
Of course they can, but you usually have to go to specific sites to view it and you will have ended up there looking for it.
Wasn't so very long ago you would have to go to one of the Chans to find any uncensored vids. (Where I used to spend a lot of time for the craic. Stopped when the *****s landed.)
Now there are numerous sites posting them freely.

I can't see Facebooks reasoning behind this, papers will be full of scandalised parents who have found their children viewing something they shouldn't.
    Big own goal methinks.

Tories talking sense? Well I never.
Facebook is not the place for obscene sex and violence and as for the energy companies renationalise the ****ing lot! Their greedy corrupt ways are going to kill vulnerable people this year! I hope the fat cat ****s choke on their ****ing bonuses!

Facebook is a shining example of everything that is wrong with society. Everybody living in each pocket, bleating like sheep for acceptance. Best thing i did was come off that. I actually have things to talk about when I meet my mates.

    Couldn't agree more mate.
Got a mate dyed in the wool Tory from birth his Da was a local Doctor.
He is actually a canny lad and loves SAFC but bloody hell his Tory views have me and the other lads blood boiling at times.
When we were arguing about having to struggle to pay huge Electric bills and it going to foreign governments and companies, he jumped in with it goes to hard working British investors.
    We ****ing laced him! :p

I have no problem with Facebook mate, just not my cuppa tea.
Like you I do all my talking with mates face to face.
And if the only way one of my relations can contact me is through Facebook, because they have moved away from Sunderland. Tough.
    They shouldn't have ****ing moved.
I suppose this forum is my version of Facebook, chatting with online mates without the faces. (Which is probably a good thing. :p)

Disagree there like fella, this is just a message board. Darlo carries the typical small town mentality, when it's transfers to facebook the circle closes in big time. Everybody just interferes with each others lives. The airing of dirty laundry is a particular problem. It became intolorable. Learnt a lot about who to avoid whilst out on the piss though. It's not for me. Twitter intrigues me like.

But you can't disagree with me.
As I said it and meant it. <ok>

I know just being pedantic. :p

I do understand what you are saying about the rest though.
    Don't do Twatter either.
But when I have seen links to convos on there it looks no different to what I have seen from on Facebook.

    :D Ha ha!

What appeals to me about twitter is following current affairs and hobbies. I've got a deep love of Norther Soul and it's regaining popularity, as a result there's lots of 'all nighters' popping up at short notice, I'd catch all the locations on twitter. I wouldn't make it social tool, more of a database for information to all my passions and loves.

    Pedantic again I know. <blush>

FOR SOMEONE WHO DOESN'T DO FACEBOOK I SEEM TO HAVE A LOT OF UNDERLYING KNOWLEDGE OF IT. FFS!

Fining companies for making excess profits is the final proof that the free market doesn't work.

I probably should have put the word fine in the OP Bobby.
But to all intents and purpose it is just another tax.

What this tells me too, is that deep down even the greedy Tories know it is wrong for a company that should have stayed nationalised to be making vast profits off those who can least afford it, as they have no other option but to pay whatever the parasites want to charge.

It's obscene that we are subsidising other countries and being made to pay for our own bloody water as well.

it does/did but now it's more centered around number 1, it's an 'all about me' website now. It has a timeline now you know? your dirty laundry and embarrassing photos are all organised into one tidy, easy for anybody to see chronological line.

I can use twitter as simple as a like for bulletins of interest. Saying that, haven't got a twitter account yet, still can't be arsed to set one up. :p

He only said it because he knew it wouldn't in a million years happen, simple points scoring exercise for Major.
