    Tom Lineham – Hull FC

IN a breakthrough season at the Black and Whites, winger Tom Lineham produced one of the standout moments of the season on a day to remember for the Hull FC fans. With Hull on the defence in the first half, Lineham plucked a Warrington kick out of the air to race 90 minutes to the try line and set his side on their way to Wembley in the Challenge Cup final. Lineham had announced himself as a player for the big stage, but he unfortunately missed the final through injury.

Sone Aluko – Hull City AFC

HAVING been released by Birmingham City as a youngster, all eyes were on Hull City’s Sone Aluko when he returned to St Andrew’s with an in-form Hull City side now thriving on his brilliance. The Nigerian didn’t disappoint either, as a stunning first half display helped the Tigers into a 3-0 lead to stun the home crowd, with Aluko helping himself to a brace in a classy display. Few could point to a better individual display from a City player for many a year.

    Luke Campbell

HAVING spent 12 months out of the boxing ring following his Olympic Gold medal – and plenty of time on the ice rink! – Luke Campbell got back to what he does best when headlining a huge night of professional boxing at Craven Park. Campbell destroyed his opponent Andy Harris in front of the Sky television cameras, with some blistering combinations ending the bout in just 88 seconds. Campbell had announced his arrival on the professional scene in superb style.

    Jamie Shaul – Hull FC

IF there’s a perfect way to announce your arrival playing for your hometown club, then Jamie Shaul found it on his Hull FC debut. With Hull struggling with injuries, the former Skirlaugh amateur was called up to start at full-back, and it was he who inspired the Black and Whites to victory with a two-try, man of the match performance. Shaul went on to play in the Challenge Cup final for FC, just six games into his professional career. Shaul has proved local boys can make it to the top – and quickly.

Yes Luke Campbell for me too, there are a lot of hours and years of dedication going into winning Olympic gold, most of it early morning training with very little recognision, I'm sure he will win it he is the pride of Hull still and a shining example of what you can achieve if you put in the time!

Not sure I agree with that. If Campbell wins a fight he gets the credit and you can't argue with it; if City win a game some players will get credit but there will always be other players that people still moan about.

Is it supposed to be something achieved in 2013 or what?

The Fulham player who scored the worldy last night couldnt have done it without the pass from his team mate, a solo sportsman has to get glory much harder, also is Vettel a good driver or has he the best car?
