Because we spent one season contemplating who he was, then another marvelling at what a hot prospect he was, then 3 seasons wondering why he couldn't play Championship football for us. It apparently isn't an issue for him at Blackburn.
Most likely because he's always been with us & has always been one of those with "potential" to make it. Is that official or just what you think?
True, but the last 5 years have seen a lot of players talked about, Campbell will he come or not? Ash, will he cope or not? But yeah there does seem to be a lot about a player who most think should be sold but a few think he should be given a shot. Also this is another one.
Ricardo Vaz Te wins hands down as the most baffling player that kept cropping up. I googled it to back up my claim... https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=v...0wX4vIGIAQ&start=0&sa=N&biw=360&bih=615&dpr=2 Interestingly you get Nicky Maynard shagging a sheep in the images. please log in to view this image
He was never really that bad for us at Championship level, some of us were crying out for him to get game time for the last two seasons in particular. He was kept out of the team by Evans who was effective but nowhere near as talented.
I think It was Leicester Gangsta that made that image. We were having a bit of fun on the Leicester board around the time that we were putting bids in for Maynard weekly. I'll find the thread. http://www.not606.com/showthread.ph...er-and-took-a-photo-Conclusive-Proof!!!/page2
Ashbee was always a controversial subject across the City forums. Not in the last three years or so admittedly.
It is because potentially he is a fantastic player and before playing for us was touted as a probable £10m player. He has stagnated though. I think we're all disappointed in how he has developed as many see him as being too big for his boots
I remember being really excited when TC arrived on the scene, I can remember being proud of him as a home grown player.
I think our form up until January will define whether Cairney will stay or go - he's gaining some form now in the Championship, and I imagine Brucey (in the back of his mind) will think about it cautiously - IF we have a disastrous run of games between now and January and look like we might get pulled into a relegation scrap, as a back up plan, we might keep Cairney - as we'd most definitely lose our creative passer in midfield if we went down (i.e. Huddlestone) and TC would be a ready made replacement. As things stand though, we're playing brilliantly and hopefully it'll stay that way, Cairney will be sold in January to boost our coffers to help us buy a player that will help us in our journey of establishing ourselves in the Premier League.
