Has there ever been such a gaping chasm between Sunderland fans and players as large as it has currently? Honestly is borders on hatred some of the feelings I have had recently towards our players. From Gardner's tackle on Saturday to Larsson's pathetic tea pot pose clearance against Liverpool. How have we went from this..... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zyFJyex45Tc and ended up where we are now, I miss PDC!
God took Messi and Pele, Packed him off to West Brom, And we are left with Ji Dong F**kin Won! Keep the faith though!
I've never hated any Sunderland players but I'm finding it quite easy these days. When I go now I support the club, the shirt and the other faithful ........ the players make me ****ing sick and that isn't to do with our league position. Whatever his faults Di Canio had the guts to say what the supporters have been saying for years and stand up to the players. Sadly those same people didn't like it when Di Canio said what we all knew ....... why, I'll never know. After decades of wanting the club sorting from inside out they panicked and wanted Di Canio out. I believe he'd have worked 24 hours a day until the job was done and we could've, at last, had a club, and players, to be truly proud of. Instead, we're left with a bunch of spongers, it's so sad.
Don't hate them mate just can't stand the money grabbing bunch of bone idle motherfucking useless tools. Well maybe just a little bit.
They had their way, had Di Canio removed, and now serve up this dross. It's their doing, nothing more, nothing less. I've been a fan since our FIRST relegation in '58, (very old person), but have never witnessed such dreadful surrendering as we have seen this season. How CAN we support these people? I speak as a season card holder.
I watched leeds tear birmingham one on sunday, i've watched burnley, qpr, ipswich so far this season and they would all beat our lot so far this season, that for me is a big worry, if we did go down that is
I'm fast falling out of love with football as a whole. Nonchalant & apathetic to the whole greedy, money grabbing plethora of mercenaries that players have become. I'd rather take the bairn down the park on a Sunday morning & watch lads play for a pub team. Those lads play for no other reason than they love to do it, not because they're getting wedged 40 grand a week. People like John O'****e piss me off.
Most of them do not define what I expect to see from a Sunderland player, there is no passion, pride, determination, respect to play for this club and I suspect a lot of that is down to their contracts being up in the summer and the club showing no sign of renewing them, but you cant blame the club for that, would you renew Larsson's contract? PDC has respect from every single Sunderland fan for trying to fix this problem but the club sack him, who know what went on behind closed doors but the club backed the players over PDC and that is proving to be a massive mistake at the minute, oh and he also delivered our greatest day for many years at St James's Park, unforgettable!!
An interesting point there. If, yes if, relegation happens, even with the majority of the squad we have now, how do you reckon this team would cope in the championship? Promotion, play offs, mid table or worse.
Easier to sack one man than 11 mate however, the way I look at it that is the only way we will get anywhere.
I would love us to sack a player and blame it on poor results, would hopefully start a trend. It is though as you say far too easy to blame the manager/head coach. You have to feel fro PDC though, sacked for poor results with players he never had any say in signing, the old guard who he was trying to stop poisoning our club went over his head and the club back them over PDC, which ultimately lead to his sacking. The guy never had a chance, I hope we give Gus time, even if we go down its about time we stuck with a manager and some continuity.
I honestly think we would struggle tbh, the championship is no walk in the park, you just have to look at qpr on paper QPR starting eleven 1 Green 2 Simpson 39 Assou-Ekotto 17 Barton 5 Dunne 6 Hill 20 Henry 36 O'Neil 9 Austin 23 Hoilett (substituted for Jenas at 86 minutes') 19 Kranjcar (substituted for Faurlin at 72 minutes' (substituted for Jenas at 86 minutes')) QPR Substitutes 3 Traore 7 Phillips 16 Jenas 18 Chevantón 26 Murphy 28 Ehmer 32 Faurlin
My thoughts exactly mate but, given our track record he will be gone if we go down. To be honest he wasn't my choice but I reckon he would be our best bet of a swift return if we do go.
In my opinion a bond is formed between players and supporters by supporters singing their names, which doesn't really happen much at Sunderland these days..However, there seems a definite necessity to have at least one scapegoat on the go at any given time..
1 would be nice mate but we have a full team of them give or take a couple of players who are at least trying.
Footballers these days are over paid cowards with no loyalty even when they are playing for their country so clubs have zero chance. Take the England whistle blower in last weeks Monkey frenzy. Here we have a player who's team had just qualified for the World cup finals. A night to celebrate you'd think. Nope, this bloke heard a nothing comment in the dressing room and turned it into a racial jibe. The thing that makes me sick is he didn't have the balls to confront Roy yet couldn't wait to go straight to the Sun in what I can only think was a deliberate attempt to cause as much damage as possible to Roy and the team. Whoever this player was is utter Scum, unfortunately it seems the power of players shows no abating and is in danger of killing the game by alienating vast swathes of fans.
I've felt like a lot of you for ages with the England team. I think they're a bunch of overpaid assholes. I had the Poland game on but wasn't really watching and couldn't have give two ****s if they qualified or not. In contrast I remember as a kid watching a similar World Cup qualifier against Poland and crying when we didn't qualify. The frightening thing is I'm now starting to feel the same way about Sunderland
I reckon that, after another another few decades of turgid ****e, even the most avid PDC-Haters will look back and wonder what might have happened. We were crying out for a manager who could represent the supporters and we got one ......... then let him go when the players twisted
