Er, I think everyone has been talking about the league game so far, Roger, not the cup game.

I'm a big fan of both Meyler and Quinn, but I suspect Quinny might be seen as a bit too attacking for that position. Meyler is the most like-for-like swap for Livermore I think. I also think he's one of our more under-rated players. He offers everything in midfield really; he gets stuck in, can tackle, gets everywhere including into the box importantly and he can head and shoot well too.

I think Meyler will come in - my main concern is that he seems to have developed a tendency for conceding free kicks in dangerous areas :(. Hopefully he will give a good account of himself in both the League and Cup games.

I really liked him last year, but when he's played this year, he seems a bit out of his depth. He'll often be found chasing the ball and then being found out of position. I hope he comes in and does a job, we'll need him.

He's quite wasteful in possession sometimes, that's my only worry. Livermore hardly ever gives it away.

Has to be Meyler. Can defend across (when on song) and a goal is always a possibility.

Mea culpa Tuckin! Thought we were talking about the LC. Anyhow Meyler on Sunday for me. He'll bring plenty of energy, aggression and hard tackling to our MF, altho he just doesn't have Jakes smarts and defensive coverage ability. Would like to see Gedo get some reasonable playing time too.

As for the LC I think we could pull off a surprise as Spurs will probably play most of their second team although Lennon and Defoe will probably start.

I'd play Tom Cairney. But we can't.

I'd give Meyler the game time. He's been unlucky that we've been playing 4-4-2 so he's not getting a look in. I'd be tempted to drop Elmo too, move Aluko and Brady higher up field and bring quinny in the centre. Pace to hit them in the counter with legs in the middle to get in their faces.

It's a decent plan, but I suspect Brucey won't do anything quite that radical, I fully expect it to be...

    ------McGregor
    Rosie Faye Davies Figgy
    Elmo Hudd Meyler Brady
    -------Aluko
    ------Sagbo

Id play Meyler simply for his tackling ability. We will be up against it and I think we need to defend a lot more for this game. Figeroa is going to have to be on top form against Townsend who is a real handful at the moment. He may need someone covering back to assist him. We will need to break very quickly to try and catch them napping.

But Bruce has indicated he'll field our 2nd team all the way in the cups. Tottenham's reserves are on a different planet to ours. I think we've got a better chance in the league game.
