    Interesting and both depressing...

At this stage in the season of 2002/03 where we finished bottom with a then record of 19 points we had 8 points under Peter Reid.

At this stage of the season in 2005/06 where we broke the record again with 15 points we had 5 points under Mick McCarthy.

This season reads Played 8 and 1 point under our third manager of the season so far.

    Lets hoof the nags!

I'm afraid I'm preparing myself for the championship next year. I think anyone who isn't is going to be very disappointed.

I agree I think were headed down. Having said that a run or 3 wins would put us back in the pack on 10 points.

Saturday is a must win game, then Hull away which is winable and Southampton at home. Win those 3 games and were back in with a chance. Its now or never. I can't see it myself but Gus should be setting that goal for the team in the short term.

6 points adrift with 30 games to go. Shouldn't be that daunting until you look at on field performances. But if poyet gets us organised it's still very much game on.

All is not lost but losing has become our all.

If we (Gus ) can manage to turn this around he should piss manager of the year by a country mile. It's never been done before so time to rewrite the record books? We are now the holders of the title worst ever start to a premiership campaign. If Gus can ensure we have our best ever end to it, we have the smallest of open doors right now but victory on Sunday is a no excuses must win game now for sure. Draws are meaningless with 1 from 24.

In 1976-77 we had 4 draws from our first 8 games and were rock bottom. That was the famous "Jimmy 'cheating twat' Hill relegation season. That's only 3 points difference and we very nearly got out of jail in 76-77 with some storming performances as our form picked up through the year, including putting 6 past WBA & West Ham and beating Man U at Roker.

We have 30 games to find three teams worse than us, so all is not yet lost.

Sunday is massive, In fact massive doesn't do it justice.
Win and just maybe we can just turn this around. Anything else and all I can see is relegation, it's not even bloody November yet..<wah>
