"Rumours, which have yet to be denied, that Paolo put his name in the frame during a chance meeting with Ellis Short in a London restaurant seem entirely believable at this moment."

    Idiotic nonsense.

Found myself agreeing and disagreeing in equal measures.
His diatribe about how Di Canio got the job was laughable and went totally against the point he was trying to make.

PDC was and always will be a FAN.
He used to turn up to watch his heroes as a kid and was skilful enough to be one of the best players I have seen live.
He wanted Sunderland to be the FANS club he wanted the players to have pride in the shirt they were privileged to wear!
He wanted the players to act professionally on and off the pitch, after all they get paid well for doing so.

The author wants more information supplied by the club!

PDC gave us all the information in spades and was castigated for having the nerve to try and put these Prima Donnas, that couldn't actually give two ****s about SAFC, in their place.
They are EMPLOYED to be PROFFESSIONAL footballers for Christ's sake.

PDC did nothing I disagree with, he was trying to turn an unfit bunch of water carriers into a TEAM.

    The points I agree with?
I too feel, as if, we as fans are now only classed as a source of income.
And are no longer the heart of the club, which has been replaced with money and survival in the top flight at any cost! And **** the football.

The article is a little hit and miss but he does summarise nicely many of the feeling I have about the club.
I do however agree with the above 100%.
Something stinks at SAFC. It's cant be the Managers we've had, there has been so many yet we are in free fall and it's getting worse. It's not the fans and for my money Ellis is doing his best although the warning signs were very evident last season. Finishing fourth bottom then balancing the books was a recipe for disaster.
Defeat at the weekend will see us down. I don't care how many games are left, we will have played 8 with only 1 point to show. Irreversible I'm afraid.

We've all been saying this for a couple of years now lads that something is terminally wrong, whether that is the top people players or manager is hard to work out.
Decent article mind for a change.

The word "shopping" indicates that we got something in return - it was more a giveaway sale after the 55th minute
