So we've had a few games to assess the potential contenders for signing of the season this year, who's impressed you so far?

Obviously, there's many who haven't had much game-time to shine yet, so here's a run down of the options that I think could reasonably vie for your vote.

    Spurs
Eriksen - Wonderfully talented technician who can split defences and stick them in from all angles by himself. A steal at around the £10 million they paid in amongst the massive spending spree.

Paulinho - Composed, strong and attacking minded. He's a central figure this season for Spurs linking defence and attack.

    Everton
Lukaku - Heck of a loan signing, probably already repaid whatever fee Everton submitted to Arsenal, and well worth whatever wages he's on. Why did Chelsea let him go again?

    Sunderland
Giaccherini - Massively impressive at the Confed Cup before the season, and seemingly a tremendous coup by the black-cats to get his signature. Works very hard, but has sound technique and good pace which makes him a tricky winger.

    Arsenal
Ozil - "The assist king" has made a remarkable transition to the premier league so far, considering this is supposedly the pinnacle. Time will tell if he can produce versus the bigger teams in the division however, because the london outfit have had a pretty easy start.

    Newcastle
Remy - Another really good loan signing. Guaranteed goals if he simply turns up. Pace, skill and accurate finishing are the hallmarks of a successful striker at this level, and he's got it all.

    Hull Tigers
Huddlestone - Probably the best technical midfielder England have, even above Carrick. Shame he's about as mobile as a wheelie bin. Still, he's been a really positive signing, and we've seen the evidence that he can lift players around him.

    Swansea
Bony - Came from the Dutch league with a blistering scoring record, much like Altidore, but unlike Heskey mark II (as Mackems call him), he's not looking too out of his depth in the premier league. Pacey and clinical, but we'll see more of whether his style is really a good fit for Swansea over the next few months

    Man City
Negredo - I like him, I think he's a classy player with a decent physical game as well, which allows City to mix it up a bit better than simply bringing on Dzeko etc.

Fernandinho - Solid DM who has been brought in to run the show for Citeh.

    Liverpool
Mignolet - Haven't really seen him at his best, but he's still made some outstanding saves for his new team and is a marked improvement on Pepe Raina.

    West Brom
Berahino - Pacey winger with a decent shot on him. He's excelled coming on in games, and looks an exciting prospect.

Sessegnon - Was a stand out player at Sunderland, the one you'd suggest man-marking to decrease their effectiveness, and now he's performing the same role for the Baggies. A bit inconsistent, but with bursts of magic.

Amalfitano - The good one. Clever player with a decent finish on him.

After yesterday, Ozil. The best player to move in the Summer, including Bale. Delivering so much already.

I suppose the question of worth comes into it as well. If he keeps it up, he'll genuinely be worth the substantial outlay. At the moment, I'd say my money on the best signing of the season would be spunked on Eriksen, because they have a wonderful player at a snip. Yet I do wonder whether squad rotation will take it's toll on Spurs' challenge for the top four, and individual performances, because Villas Boas will have to play some of the players who aren't as talented who I think they've wasted money on, like Lamela, due to pressure from above.

Certainly, if I had to pick a Spurs starting 11, Eriksen would be one of the first on the team-sheet.

Went for Huddleston at Hull, some of the other contenders such as Ozil and Lukaku were pretty obvious choices, but l feel that in context a club like Arsenal or Everton always had enough about them to attract players such as the aforementioned. However l think Hull did absolutely brilliantly to sign Huddleston and Livermore.
Huddleston stands out as that little bit classier than his team mates whenever you see him play.
For me Hull have played a blinder signing him.

Ozil for me too. One signing has made Arsenal into genuine title contenders, no other single signing has or can make such an impact

Watched him a couple of times and also when he was at Real Madrid. Great buy for Arsenal.

Ozil is indeed classy, but in terms of 'value' I think Lukaku is just what Everton needed - and for a season long loan spell, it's great business. If he were here, alongside Remy, then we'd be awesome.

Have I missed something with Lukaku and arsenal?

<laugh>. You see Kinnear, THAT is how you maximise astute commercial opportunities. Loan out a player who belongs to another club. Genius!
