either way we ave a margin for error now . Points in the bank. I do feel this season the top 7 will pull away from the pack. Last year 70 points guaranteed playoffs, i think tis year it will be a lot higher. A lot of teams have an ace of 2 points or better which is bizzare, also the top 6 haven't really played each other yet. Funny thing is its Wigan that bothers me, i have a feeling they will make a serious charge.
W9, that might be a post you should save somewhere so that you can bring it back later. There is always a team that get on a run at the right time and surges through the division, Wigan is a very good shout imo.
Back then we were 4 points clear with a goal difference 12 better then 2nd placed Cardiff, it is incredible how different this season is.
True Roller. This year there's a few teams at the top that are relentless. If you get a chance mate, could you update the table for the last two games? Nice one
Have done so. Relentless is probably exactly the right word, let's hope they feel the same about us. It is worth noting that we are still 3 games ahead of a 90 point season schedule. It is now a case of lasting the pace. Can we, can they?
I may have had one too many as it is mate. I agree that we're alright................but there's a bloody long way to go.
There is a long way to go, that's for sure, but we need you in one piece at the end. We also need to resolve the lack of goals and it's not simply down to 'another striker required'. Let's hope Harry can stay cool.
Very happy with this return although this time around we definitely need to maintain this level as the Champ this time round seems far more competitive with the top teams not dropping too many points.
we were playing much better football 3 seasons ago though we would probably of won 3-0 at Yeovil, where as this season we were lucky to win
Only 2009/10 did you have to have more than 88 points to go straight up. Newcastle had 102 that year and WBA got 91, third place only had 79. With our current point average of 2,45 we would end up with 113 points. So still a lot of points to drop without having to worry to much. Keep the momentum for as long as possible and we'll replicate 2010/11 no doubt. Goal = 88 points = promotion -> Point average 1,9 Played 11: 27 points -> Point average 2,45 Margin of error: 0,55 point
Totally agree, but if you look down the teamsheet, I feel we have a more talented & experienced squad, than 3 years ago.
One might argue that with 35 games left and 61 points needed, we need 1.75 points per game to hit your 88 points, which suggests a significantly narrower margin of error going forward of 0.15 points per game.
