Anyone know if he has much experience in that position? I know his preference is left back. But maybe Dummett and Colo as the CB pairing? Harsh on Williamson I know, and it may be a knee-jerk reaction, but he hasn't put in a bad game at left back and looked fairly comfortable there today.

Looks very promising indeed. The fact he can cover both positions so confidently adds real strength to areas where we have been weak in terms of cover. I think he could start at CB. <ok>

If there's anything at NUFC at the moment to restore my faith in why I support this club it's Paul Dummett.

Seeing a local lad like that living the dream, and working bloody hard to get on that pitch and score at the Gallowgate like that... superb.

He's come into the game at an awful moment, out of his normal position and played a blinder against I think easily the best striking duo in the league.

Well done mate and as long as he's in the team frankly I don't mind him playing anywhere.

Quality young player on all we've seen, hasn't put a foot wrong. Played a mixture of left back and centre back for the reserves.

I'd rather he stay at LB and push Santon up and use Remy up front

Impressed me but I don't see him as CB got to be LB for me.

He could do either job, but for the moment I'd rather see him at LB.

This is the problem I have. He shouldn't have to be on the bench because of his lack of senior experience. He's good enough to start and he's proving very reliable.

Having watched it again, its an underrated finish. Adjusts his body well and just so calm on the run. He fecking loved it too, his legs couldn't quicken up anymore round the back of the net if he tried! This lad is going unnoticed, Wales would do well to get him playing regularly.

Agree. I was watching it on BT sport, Owen was commentating. He said the same. Strikers finish that was. So so pleased for him. I hope he gets the chance to show what he has got. I don't think we have been brave enough over the years at giving youngsters a chance.

I don't know what else he has to do to be kept involved. Have to say both Santon and Debuchy did well today.

MD did look very good today. It's very different playing his type of game in the prem. Because he likes to get forward so much with the speed of the game being much quicker than in France I think he needed to improve his fitness a bit and learn to pick his moments to go forward better. Seems today he wasn't caught out of position so much.

His defending is getting tighter too, as he adapts to the pace here. Made some good interceptions and tackles.

I'm glad he got some of the ball with lunge right below me (Milburn). Can't remember who it was on, but it was a proper leg stretcher <laugh> His booking was wild too.

There appeared to be some French interview with him and Cabaye on BT when I was fast forwarding to watch the goals earlier.

The lad stood in admirably at CB, but to stick him their full time is to remove some of his real instinct, which is to get forward and attack. He's fcking good at it. it's a shame, in a way, we have Santon! Sounds ridiculous, but if we had a problem at left back it'd now be solved. Like Sammy, it'll just take time to bring them through. But in a year or two, he's going to be first rate. Who knows, maybe Madrid'll pay us £86m.

Not a penny less than £100m.
