I'm glad we didn't lose, it sounds like a slow start from the side after the international break. A complacent performance, and hopefully a reality check for the players. The one positive I can glean is that at least we've gotten the shock of conceding out of the way in a game Vs inferior opposition. If the clean sheet run had been broken Vs Burnley, they'd be more likely to capitalise on the wobble it caused. Still, we've doubled our goals conceded for the season today. Irritating
As opposed to who? Henry was always going to be brought back in, he's been playing well. He wasn't dropped due to lack of form, but because we wanted create more chances at home. We created enough chances to win today, so his inclusion didn't prevent that. I think without Henry we'd have conceded 3 and lost, because he does indeed offer more protection, and has done all season.
Still a 4 point gap to 4th with a game in hand.....next week should be a cracker.....looking forward to it already
Perhaps you are right but I did also follow another game on the telly so that´s why 365 was my choice again.
I am not disappointed at all as we kept our record and did not lose against a Millwall team that certainly has improved recently. Hard luck that we conceded that late goal whereas Burnly managed to score a late goal - so what, we do have a good and unbeaten team which will manage a good result next week, for sure.
After us, Burnley have: Millwall (a) Bournmouth (h) Forest (a) Hudd's (a) Watford (h) Barnsley (h) Leicester (a) Blackpool (h) In other words, they are going to start dropping points soon. Very soon, hopefully
What was our performance like today? I just got texts from my Millwall supporting grandson, you'd think they'd won the bloody league! The little git...
Out of interest was Faurlin injured when he was replaced by Jenas as he had only been on 10 minutes or so? anyone know?
Yes, all that multi-tasking is a bit difficult at times - I was listening to our match commentary on BBC London 94.9 (an unexpected, very nice surprise for me), with choices of Chelsea v Cardiff, Man Utd v Southampton or Swansea v Sunderland on TV, and Watford v Derby or Forest v Bournemouth on Bet365 live stream, plus our game with the Bet365 wave thrown in for good measure! Great result for Steve McClaren, who I note was once again watching the game all alone (by choice, unlike Mourinho), like a hawk, up in the stands.
Unfortunately in Germany I do only get Bundesliga live football so I was watching my favorite German team Werder Bremen with my tablet next to me showing the score on 365. So next week I do hope to have full 90 minutes (plus) against Burnley. Following the R´s on the radio hasn´t been that successfully recently so I do avoid that sort of media.
Very annoying in the end. But on a positive note a goal and assist from Niko and a strike from open play for Austin. Tough games ahead but we're going to get stronger, hopefully.
Didn´t we all say that a draw at Millwall would be a good result ? Of course we should have won this one but that was just hard luck. Nice to have us still on 2nd place which is all we need to go up again.
I found it interesting to note that in the past 4 season, six out of the eight teams occupying the promotion places after 12 games were automatically promoted. Lies, damn lies and statistics, huh?
Don't tempt fate Uber, I was going to post this morning that we hadn't conceded a second half goal in the league this season but the battery on my phone died before I'd written it...
