I know he's a CB, but can he play on the wing or up front?

He's a decent player, but perhaps at SPL level and not really the player we need at this time. If he wasn't good enough for Scottish League One and QPR, then why on earth is he thought to be of value to the Leeds United squad?

He's a centre back and that's it, mostly a tackle hard and thump it long type of centre back.

We need a winger, midfield play maker and a poacher, not another centre back, at this stage.

So we are screaming for a winger and a goal scorer.
And we get a out of contract CB on trial! <doh>

McD wants some experience in the back 4. The reason he was released by hearts wad that they couldnt afford him.

I do agree we do need a winger and striker 1st

Will add little if anything to the squad. Agree with others, we need a winger, & possibly a forward as well.

I'm not trying to be positive in any way but I do seem to notice that BMD is starting to get a few frowns from people and while I have questioned some of his decisions I think people are all too quick to jump on the negative side of things.

He is only training with us, if he does well then yes he will probably earn a contract, who knows the length but my guess would be a year and a half. BMD has said that there is money to bring in loans as well and this will not affect that so it isn't instead of a striker and/or a winger (which I completely agree should be priority). I just think if this guy can add something to the squad then why not sign him, bearing in mind we only have 3 CBs really and they are all young so its not like we couldn't use another centre back in the squad. It would be great to bring in a winger or striker but it shouldn't put us off signing someone else who is actually available who can add to the squad just because its not the priority, you sign who you can when they become available sometimes.

Morning Eire. Not sure why you think I'd have plenty of comments to make. If he can't get into a Hearts team who aren't exactly setting the world alight in a nothing league (what are the odds on Celtic winning that league by the end of March?), why would we want him?

Interesting comments in your 2nd paragraph though Josh. So time will tell.

Correct about the poor standard in Scotland. However there are the odd decent players plying their trade there and in League of Ireland etc. If we had a proper scouting network, we could pick up a couple without spending a fortune. After all thats where Snoddy originated. We just seem to continue searching in same spots for loanees and its not happening. What shape is glass in for today Boggers, overflowing or half empty

At least half full as ever Eire. Snoddy was a good pick. Pity we couldn't hold on to him. That said, it should be possible to send up a couple of scouts to Scotland. Tanner ball players were 10 a penny in Scotland. So I think we should be able to find one or two that's worth taking a punt on.

He TURNED DOWN offers from Rangers and QPR ... rated as a quality CB, would welcome him to help our young defenders ... trust McD!!
