Because England are a team of ****s, watched by gullible ****s, who get treated like ****s by an FA who are ..
Sorry Wurzel but can you make your point without the use of that word. Anyway as with all football these days it's about money
Used to go. England France five six years ago was the moment the tide finally came in. Coach load from West Street all together and McDonalds had sponsored a display. Each block of fans "had" to wear a white sponsored t shirt or a red one. Our coach rolled in just before kick off and at one point the stewards were not going to let us in because we were not wearing the sponsored guff and we would spoil the display. Even the band was sponsored. Everything has to be "official". Every angle is prostituted to brands and globalisation. All franchised food and merch outlets are rationalised extracting as much profit as possible out of the fodder. England fans or whatever it was called £75 membership not a for a ticket but for the chance to buy one for away games. Buy a ticket from England fans, and when you got abroad you found it was 100% more or even more than the touts were selling e.g Poland £36 v £10. Why would shirts be any different? Its all just a brand to flog.
The people buying the rubbish are the first fans to lose interest in a few years... It's the hardcore support of the local clubs that they should be trying to entice and attract. Not Johnny Toff looking to take his kids out for a "Super" day out. Or corporate plebs who don't bother to even use their ticket as they have had a better offer to go to some vice den for the evening to have 3 bales of ***t whipped out of em.... Lets squeeze every penny until the bottom has fallen out of the dieing international game. Wouldn't buy a shirt, wouldn't buy a ticket, wouldn't even buy a pint to watch an England game in the pub!
I would go and watch England play - in fact I may well go one of the friendlies in November - not sure why some on here are having a pop at fans who go??? I have a season ticket at Ashton Gate - and miss probably one game a season (usually because ill) - every home game is a 130+ mile round trip for me - so not really some fair weather fan who is going to walk away?? I suggest you look at the 3,000 odd City fans who no longer go to AG because our side is struggling at the moment?
