Moon: Sam Rockwell as an astronaut mining the moon for an energy source. Any more info would ruin it! http://youtu.be/twuScTcDP_Q Anything by the Coen brothers. Big Lebowski being my all time fave!! http://youtu.be/cd-go0oBF4Y
One of my fave bits is the soldier interupting dinner to relay the dream he had last night
Why is this thread still circulating? It's a perfect hunting ground for any potential groomers. I will ask once again that it be removed for safety.
I always found this a cracking horror film. Suspiria. Italian horror film by Dario Argento, a legend in horror movie making.
The Intouchables and Hide Away are two fantastic films that are under the radar at the moment, watched them on NOW TV movie service, quite recent releases.
Tarantino's forgotten film... Why does nobody seem to know about Jackie Brown? It's one of Tarantino's best, and is surprisingly low on violence compared to his other films.
It’s an age thing. Everyone of my age(ish) ,who is not a cultural idiot, will have heard of (if not seen) Jackie Brown. But to someone of your age, it’s a film from around the time of being born so is quite understandable why they wouldn’t have heard of it. But trust me, it's not a forgotten film (I didn't rate it personally). I remember it coming out and there were tonnes of hype surrounding the film. It'll be like an 18 year old saying to you in twenty years time, that World War Z is a really obscure Brad Pitt film. You'd probably find the statement funny but would empathise regarding how it may seem to a teenager. It’s a bit like a films from the early 70s for me – I’ll know a lot of them but there’ll be a lot of gaps too.
Again, not exactly obscure, but a belter
The main problem it had was it was following up Pulp Fiction, in my opinion the greatest film ever, which didn't help it's cause. Considering Tarantino was recognized for his 'unique' brand of movie making, Jackie Brown was much different to his first two movies.
I remember going to see RD and PF at pictures. Enjoyed both, but neither would make my top 10 or top 20 - not that I'd ever be able to decide on such a list anyway.
Tim Roth's performance in Made in Britain was phenomenal. He has the potential to be a really great actor if he would just stop chasing the yankee dollar. The first film on this thread called Deceiver stars Roth (full movie) and he's brilliant in that too.
