Another International break and Leeds have failed to add to their squad. McD has admitted that six approaches for players have failed, mainly because they are recognised players who are listed in their clubs' 25 man squads. It seems McD is not keen on signing unproven young talents as it is "risky" to throw them in at the deep end. I think this has more to do with the mental pressure of playing for a massive club like Leeds than the physical stuff. Is McD being too picky and choosy in the loan market, or is he right to be careful and only look for "the right type of player"? We are really desperate for new faces, but on the flip side they need to be quality. Something has to happen soon.
Of course he's right. It must be so difficult to find players good enough to improve our already superb team. How many strikers would be better than Varney, Hunt and Smith in the country, not many Id guess. Difficult to improve on our wingers too. McD is right to sit on his arse and wait till the top class ones become available at the prices we're willing to pay
I think by this stage we ain't getting anyone in and we've to persevere with this team till Jan, then for the good of the team we'll sell Byram and not get anyone etc etc
Exactly shaks. Where used that old saying get used a lot "The futures white". Doesnt apply to us anymore. What future?
I personally think you can create your own luck in the transfer market. For example Burke offer Brum a decent amount of money loan him for now and buy him in Jan the same applies to Rowe these clubs are going to loose these players for nothing in June so 500k should secure both deals Guedetti surely can be loaned if we offer the right money I think we are trying to do it on the cheap as usuall
Correct, assuming we have any money. No evidence except spin and bullshit from GFH to suggest we have
I know I am like a stuck record but Rowe is coming. Posh are saying if we take him on loan till crimson they want an extra £100,000 transfer fee over what they want to just to sell in January. Predictably we are refusing. The end of the loan window will seal this deal one way of another.
By January we'll be probably 15 points off play offs so wont matter at that stage who we get. We'll probably sell Byram to buy him anyway and it'll be greeted as a positive move
If you're 15 points off playoffs in January you'll probably be in the bottom 3 at the end of the season Lots of players available for loan Harry Kane (Spurs) Craig Dawson (West Brom) Nathaniel Chalobah (Chelsea) Alan Hutton (Villa) Shane Duffy (Everton) Michael Keane (United) Daniel Ayala (Norwich) Jazz Richards (Swansea) Zeki Fryers (Tottenham) George McCartney (West Ham). Serge Gnabry (Arsenal) Josh McEachran (Chelsea) Owen Garvan (Crystal Palace) Dan Gosling (Newcastle) David Fox (Norwich) Lee Cattermole (Sunderland) Simon Dawkins (Tottenham) Aaron Wilbraham (Crystal Palace) Apostolos Vellios (Everton) Jordon Ibe (Liverpool) Adam Morgan (Liverpool) Alex Nimely (Man City) John Guidetti (Man City) Lee Barnard (Southampton) Jonathan Forte (Southampton) Leroy Lita (Swansea) Ricardo Vaz Te (West Ham). If McDermott don't sign any of these or similar on loan, then your owners aren't backing him like they say they are
TC, I believe he is being backed but in a mickey mouse way. Yes he can make loan signings but nothing available with the cash he has. Thats me belief, hope Im wrong
Yep, money is a sticking point for sure, other is players willing to drop down to Champs right now, more will be willing come January when they are out of the Cups and can't get games to showcase themselves anymore.
Saw Leroy Lita on TC's list, then this evening on Sky Sports..... Brighton boss Oscar Garcia moved for Lita after top scorer Leonardo Ulloa was ruled out until December with a foot injury. Garcia told the club's official website: "He is strong, fast, and direct and he has shown he can score goals in the Championship. He offers us something different going forward." 9 goals in 22 on loan to Sheff Weds and Birmingham from the Swans and more or less a 1 in 2 starts overall during his career and available on loan, an opportunity missed? .
