What a bizarre site. I'm going to stick £10 on Ron Burgundy at 500/1. WTF?!

Martin O'neill is between jobs at the moment, so if he was going to be named, you would think he would be installed straight away, as there would be no problems with him being released from a league club, as he is a free agent

I just think that there is no point in endlessly speculating about whether MM will leave in the Summer! He is currently our manager and is doing a cracking job in revitalising our club and we should cross that bridge if ever it comes! Personally I think that MM will stay depending on where we finish this season as it is his ambition to manage in the Premiership! He has made this clear all along so I see no reason why he would want to go back into International management.

warky, you are totally wrong. mccarthy has made it clear that he would like the ireland job again one day (not too sure why - they aren't blessed with great players at the moment) but i think it'll be the end of the season before anything happens. you're possibly right that if you were to go up this season then he would likely stay but come on - he wants the ireland job - its not exactly a secret

IF and its a Big IF... then I would like to see Terry Butcher come down and give it a go. He's doing a great job at Inverness on a very limited budget.

Lee Dixon looks like he knows what he's on about so how about him? Or there's Nigel Clough or your personal favourite Paul Tisdale!

There's me thinking that you wanted endless speculation so lets speculate.....

Terry Butcher talks a good game yes, but when he managed clubs in the English leagues, he didn't exactly pull up any trees, lets be honest. Always think that when a manager establishes himself in Scotland, its very hard to lure them in our leagues, because they are too comfortable, and on easy street there. Lennon is the classic example, just content to coast in a league, where lets face it, its not too challenging.

Lets hope we don't lose Mick, but going down the sentimental route is not always the right answer, perhaps an up and coming manager from the lower leagues might be a better alternative

It seems the Irish rags are fanning the flames further and claiming that the FAI want their man in sooner rather than later...

    http://www.twtd.co.uk/ipswich-town-news/23793/mccarthy-increasingly-viewed-as-ireland-frontrunner

I'm resigned to the fact that he won't be here for the start of next season, which I can see both positives & negatives as (whenever he leaves) he will leave us in a fair rosier situation than he found us and laid the foundations for someone long term to come in and build on his (& TC's) good work.

Out of interest did anyone see the piece of Tisdale on football focus on Saturday? Have been a fan of his for a while and it was very interesting viewing
He very much reminds of a Burley type of manager (of 15 years ago) and think his next club will be the making of him (when he decides to leave Exeter)

Yes Tisdale, <ok> Don't mention it to JWM.

I saw it yes, was very impressed. Think he'd need a club to give him a chance to run the club how he wanted it though, like how Burley did and unfortunately there aren't many clubs which would do that anymore or willin to take the risk. Although apparently he has turned down a few jobs at Championship level.

Wouldn't mind seeing someone like Phil Parkinson given a chance
