Injured QPR midfielder could miss Millwall clash Ian Cooper Wednesday, October 16, 2013 10:40 AM QPR midfielder Tom Carroll is a doubt for Rangersâ trip to Millwall on Saturday after picking up an injury during England Under-21sâ 5-0 win over Lithuania on Tuesday night. Carroll was replaced by Arsenalâs Carl Jenkinson 16 minutes into the match, after a heavy challenge by Tomas Birskys, and later left the ground wearing a protective boot. The on-loan Spurs youngster said on Twitter: âGutted to have come off early tonight, hopefully itâs not too bad! #fatankle.â Carroll has played four times for QPR this season, after securing a season-long loan move from Tottenham on transfer deadline day. http://www.kilburntimes.co.uk/qpr/injured_qpr_midfielder_could_miss_millwall_clash_1_2884157
Its a shame but should play henry instead of him & anyway would play henry if carroll was fit, i just don't think its his type of game saturday.
What do you think about Barton not being selected for Millwall with the Burnley match coming up and him being one booking away from suspension? I doubt I need to give my opinion.....
Could be a blessing in disguise. A lot would drop him but many not want to change a winning team. I suppose that means Henry but at least this is the type of game that suits him, not Barnsley or Yeovil at home where we should win comfortably.
I would pick Henry for the next three games anyhow We currently have very options As you know I have said in the past that for away games at least Henry would be on the team sheet first
We said the same when he was dropped for the Yeovil game with the 'Boro game the following Tuesday night. He might as well just play him and let him collect his suspension and get it out of the way.
Id never pick him unless its a "who do you want to get rid of?" poll but I could at least understand him playing the next game. Its quite clear he is not the reason for the clean sheets as theyve continued but he offers less than nothing going forward because he constantly gives the ball away. Faurlin offers the same protection without the stupid red cards and offers more going forward.

Ale doesn't offer the same protect as Henry, but obviously a lot more distribution differing, types of players with differing effects on the players around them. For me I'd play Ale and Barton but would understand if he brought Henry in, central midfield is the one area we are covered with replacements so not overly worried.
he was the top tackler in the league before he got his knee injury. that surprised me because he's not a crunching tackle type but wins most headers and battles. we don't need that extra protection as we are keeping clean sheets without him, we need to score more and even Henrys biggest fan can't say he will help us with that.
I'm with you, I'd go Mr B and Mr F. The funny thing about a defensive midfielder is that they don't have to be top of the tackles, half the time it can just be guiding people into blind alleys, stopping the pass by covering space, spotting runners and covering them, all things that make the ball go in none dangerous directions. Sure you need to get the ball back but you don't need to jump in either.
I can't see 'arry leaving Barton out this week. I think his missing Yeovil was more to do with the death of a friend than his upcoming suspension. Sooner or later he will be serving a one match suspension. We are yet to meet one of the supposed top sides so he will be missing against one of them anyway. Apart from that, let the other teams worry about how they will play against us rather than how we will play. If we're not good enough to get the points against them so be it & we wouldn't be good enough to be promoted. We will lose some games this season no matter who we have playing, so I'm happy with taking this "one game at a time". Personally I'm looking forward to the run of games between now & the end of December. We will find out if we are promotable or whether we should start looking towards the future come January.
The only way it would make sense to drop him is if the deadline to get 5 yellows expires after that game. If its another 3 or 4 games away, he will get another yellow anyway so will miss 2 games instead of one.
As long as we keep passing the ball and don't resort to Championship level football I don't care. Given that Henry gives the impression of actively being afraid of having the ball at his feet, lets hope he's understood what's going on in training.
The deadline for receiving a suspension for five cautions is (I think) 31st December. No way could he avoid a caution until then!
