You're not being slagged off mate, it's just common sense. If you don't like OT threads, don't go on them. If you don't like Suarez threads, don't go on them.
It's human nature though, we just need to have a look and voice an opinion. RHC's opinion is that this is a bollox thread and should be closed. Perhaps his opinion will spark further debate?
Read what I actually said, if you really MUST comment on a thread that you don't like. My whole point is that someone (Suarez himself?) just won't let it lie. Funny how it seems to spring up again when he jaunts off on international duties, isn't it? We COULD close our eyes, put our fingers in our ears and hope he just keeps banging them in all season and that January will come and go with no disturbance to our season at all. OR, we can hope that the club have a holistic strategy with dealing with it this time, which may well include letting him go providing we have a replacement sorted. Difficult, but let's not pretend this isn't happening. Someone planted that story, and unless Suarez comes back and says he's happy till the end of the season (I wish) I think it's legitimate view all our options so as little disruption happens to our season. Got to admit though, if anyone had fears of Luis sulking he's disproving them. Let's hope he'll take the same attitude if his dream move to Real is knocked back, as opposed to a desperate leap 200 miles south to Arsenal.
I'm rapidly coming to the conclusion that I'm the only one on here who doesn't feel personally insulted that Goofy doesn't really want to play for us. I would have liked him to show some loyalty, but I never expected it, so it's no biggie as far as I'm concerned, although I do wonder how we can replace him. The only thing that would piss me off is if we sold him to another PL team. Anyway, all the latest talk seems to me to be the rags (yet again) trying to find something to write about. They'll just keep saying it's going to happen every five minutes until it does then they'll say "told you so".
My whole point, saint, is that I feel the same and want us to be pragmatic about it. If it is the rags, without any help from Guardiola ( ) then Luis can happily put us all at ease..... yeah.
I always felt that it was Guardiola doing most of the agitating all along, tbh, but it wasn't a popular view. Obviously Suarez made noises about Real, but then it gathered its own momentum, imo. I don't expect he's going to come out and reassure us that he's here for the duration because I'm sure he wants to keep his options open. We could be 7th by January and so he'll want to jump ship. On the other hand, as we've already said, we might still be in the mix and that might induce him to stick it out. All we can do is wait and see what happens, rather than get worked up over a hypothetical future.
Yeah, but......... my whole point is that we were almost ****ED last summer 'cause we didn't see it coming. I just hope we've got a contingency planned for January, and we need to be thinking of that NOW so that there's as little disruption as possible. And Luis CAN simply say that he's nothing to do with these stories and that he has no plans to leave the club this season without burning bridges between him and Madrid. But he won't. That all said, if he does end up going in January I do hope we force him, as we did Torres, to put in a transfer request and that ALL connected agents' fees are paid by Real. These are options we need to be sorting out now, not waiting until January and being ****ed like Torres did to us.
I agree with all of this. I think the agents very often lead the situation with regard to a move, they get a cut of the fee don't they so it's in their interests very often to push for a move, I'm not saying this would happen if the player was 100% happy at the club but once there's the slightest hint of being unsettled, the agent is agitating for a move. We started the season well without Suarez so we know the team are capable, if we have to end the season without him, shouldn't we be optimistic that it could end as well as it started?
I see your point, but I'm not sure how close we were to getting ****ed over in the summer. It's difficult to tell the truth from all the guff that was constantly churned out by the media. Often we have no real idea of what goes on behind the scenes. My view is that the club were mostly in control of the situation and there was never a realistic chance of him going- certainly not to Arsenal. We can only hope that the club is working towards either getting him to commit, or finding a replacement. I just don't think we'll get any definitive statement for now to put our minds at rest. Tbh, all this uncertainty is part of what makes the whole thing exciting and interesting to me.
If they paid £85m for Broken Bale then can **** off if they want Suarez in stunning form for less then £90m.
Even if we are top of the league and Suarez has 20 goals already... a Bale-esque amount of money would be a better bet to finish the season on top then keeping Suarez. I'd rather have three or four great players than one "holy cow" player. The "holy cow" player can get injured or bite someone and then you're screwed.
If Charlie Adam's delivery was worth 10 mil, then Suarez delivery must be worth 100 MILLION dollars.....
