I've got BT sports but still go to the pub. It's boring at home, the goldfish's footie banter is a bit limited.
So far this season we have won every game I've watched live on the telly... but lost or drawn every game I had to work/do other things and so missed. Clearly, liverpools fate rests clearly in my hands... Gerrard an co can only perform when I watch them. I'm going to not be able to watch the Newcastle game live because my kids will he playing at that time... however, all is not lost... I finally have a dvr (scheduled to be delivered today). We will see if me watching game on dvr is enough to allow us to win. If we lose... my apologies in advance... I'll ditch the kids next time.
Buzzing for tomos! Newcastle are a funny team and they have decent individuals - Cabaye, Sissoko, Ben Arfa, Remy to name a few - all of whom have the ability to hurt us. However, their defence is atrocious and it won't help with Colochinni and Gutierez out. Newcastle will probably play with a high line so there should be plenty of space to exploit - Moses and Sturridge have the pace and acceleration to hurt them. Unsure how fit Johnson is but if he is fully fit, then I expect him to go straight back into the team. I don't think Rodgers will make too many changes with regards to Cissokho, Lucas and Allen as I feel it could disrupt the team slightly. However, they will be on the bench and will provide quality options later on in the game.
PREMIER LEAGUE TEAM NEWS - Newcastle v Liverpool (Saturday, 1245 BST) Newcastle captain Fabricio Coloccini is sidelined by a muscle injury, while winger Jonas Gutierrez is ruled out because of personal reasons. However, Loic Remy, Moussa Sissoko, Mathieu Debuchy and Yohan Cabaye came back from international duty unscathed. Liverpool full-back Glen Johnson has returned to training after an ankle injury and could feature on Saturday. Aly Cissokho should also be available, while Joe Allen and Philippe Coutinho are nearing comebacks.
I hope we go 4 at the back and don't start bottling away days with 5 defenders on show. I jus hope me voting for the draw i nthe poll is enough to secure us a bit of luck for the win
5 defenders doesnt mean bottling it and doesnt defensive play. It can be very attacking. I think it is the best system for the players we have.
I agree - I think I best chance is to catch Newcastle on the counter because their organisational play is awful and they will leave big spaces to exploit.
