Time to bring a tear to the eyes of the older posters. I don't think I have ever sung any chant with as much gusto, belief or throat wrenching venom as this. **** them all! **** them all! Wyn Davies, Pop Robson, McFaul! We'll never be mastered, By Black and White bastards! Cos Sunderland's the best of them all! Aye Pop was one of them back then!
The sad thing is that our owners know they can rely on our loyalty and always have, whomever has run the club! A sadder thing is your insistence on keeping your oversized sig FFS! Grow up and either reduce it or lose it.
The Skunks have done it a canny few times since the formation of the Premiership, almost winning it as well...The best we have done is 7th, but mostly we have finished in the lower end of the division..
Just under 15,000 marra... If my memory serves me right Nick Pickering scored? Got back to our coach at Worsley and all the windows had been put thru... We drank and sang all the way back home..... Unbelievable day when I look back!!
It's up there with the 1-0 win at Anfield which kept us up... In the times of Bob Paisley I feel an 'away day' thread coming on !?!?
It's an amazing stat when you look at everything that has happened between the clubs and also, as mentioned, the wages and unemployment up here. You wonder if that's one if the reasons the southern media bans exists? Jealousy that, regardless of success, we still have 90+ thousand fans watching our clubs each week. That's more than Chelsea and City had in their "days when they were ****e"
Just found this for last season not our greatest or the nags for that matter. http://www.worldfootball.net/attendance/eng-premier-league-2011-2012/1/
Just once in my lifetime would be the nutz, and here we find ourselves at the crossroads yet again
Lets face it lads , the owners and management of our club have taken us for granted as long as I can remember, and I can go back a few years, believe me, and it really boils down to the fact that theres f--k all else to do in Sunderland, its a tip, and I was born and bred here!. A lot of our crowd is made up by the hillbillies from out past the Board Inn, they come down to the town in their masses every time theres a match on and its the only time they get out, you can see them getting off their mini buses and looking up at the big buildings in amazement. If any of the London clubs had a team like ours they would have disappeared years ago, nobody would turn up.
