...we can't judge Bruce, Short, Quinn or our chances next season until September 1st. Quinn himself said July is when we'll properly look to bring players in. We are resigned to losing Henderson but have the money to spend of strengthening the whole squad. We have a depleted squad as it stands but Bruce had already planned for 8 new faces without the whole Henderson deal. This means we still have plans to sign a mass of players between now and the start of the season. News of N'Gog signing certainly appears to have great debate across this board. His goalscoring record isn't great but he hasn't played week-in-week-out and I've read Liverpool fans saying that he could develop further with a move to us. SkySports saying it's £16mil + N'Gog which means he'll effectively cost around £4mil. We need a squad and he'll play his part in that squad. So let's stop the chaos, doom and gloom on this board until we actually start the season with a FULL squad. KEEP THE FAITH
Will N'Gog play regularly for us though? I wouldnt be happy if we had a front 2 of Gyan & N'Gog next season, long gone is the Gyan/Welbeck/Campbell/Bent quartette, which is a strike force that I feel we will never match again.
I don't think he will play every week. A strikeforce of Gyan/Pavlyuchenko/N'Gog/Welbeck/Campbell would be very decent!
You never know, IBWT. Thought we would never again match NQ/SKP neither. Say what you like about SB but he did bring in the 4 you mentioned and we still have 2 of them even if Fraizer is a doubt. I see no reason why he will not continue to bring in good strikers, finances permitting. Signing decent strikers is one aspect that he cannot be faulted for.
Your right there Danny boy, I have faith that we will sign a world class striker and we are renound for not letting much slip until the final stages of the deal. Like many Sunderland fans I just worry a lot and always fear the worst with all these departures, once a few new faces start coming in we will relax slightly
