Well yeah. I wasn't really arguing in the first place. It's not so much Fergie signing them only because of our interest, but more that he's interested in them too and our approach for them forces his hand.

But even then, I can only think of Vidic and now Jones who this is true of.

I only had issue with that guy putting it across as if Fergie's whole scouting team are geared towards "nabbing Liverpool's targets"
He doesn't seem to realise that the top young talents are wanted by the majority of the biggest teams.

I even gave him examples:
Robben, Essien, Bale, Ramsey, Ronaldinho, Walcott.

Mikel - Which is probably the clearest example. We had even signed him, before Chelsea showed interest.

If he wants to go down that road:
Kuyt was linked to Spurs and Arsenal around the same time. Newcastle even before.
Suarez had been linked to Tottenham amongst others.
Carroll had been linked to Tottenham, Spurs even made a bid before Liverpool.
Aguero has been linked to Spurs - Back in January (maybe even before Liverpool were)

Using his logic - Liverpool only want players Spurs want

 

Its with absolute certainty I say SAF and Man Utd have had the transfer dealing of this summer sorted for months. I would go as far back as january if not further.

Our transfers this season have been expected for years so we aint copying anyone nor are our hands being forced.

Look at last summer, Hernandez was sorted way before the transfer market even opened.

 

I think ive named sanchez, Mata, Jones, samba, henderson, Hazard, young, silvestre, and agreed with the two that a fellow lfc fan names in ronaldo and vidic you can count right? thats 10 ohh and torres 11

Clubs do go after the same players you win some,you lose some.Its been happening for years.
One example was how Steve Coppell then of Tranmere failed a trial with Liverpool because his Tranmere boss,ex Liverpool centre half Ron Yeats frightened the ****e out of him.He later joined Man United.Coppell even to this day is a diehard Liverpool fan.
Then there was Mikael Silvestre who rejected Liverpool because Liverpool wanted him to play left back,and he wanted to play centre half...and he joined Man United...to play left back.
Man United wanted Aaron Ramsey and missed out to Arsenal.
Liverpool missed out on Theo Walcott due to Parry's incompetance.The list is endless.

Four, they dont seem to realise we dont actually do our business in the open. So to say we were linked before or after is impossible. Also to be honest there are very few top players linked to only 1 club. real madrid are a team linked to every single player who does something of note yet are they nicking everyones targets or are they just showing an interest.

We have scouts all over the world, major links with Sporting lisborn and portugal on the whole. A whole network in brazil aswell.

Who spotted a player first? the club he currently plays for thats who.
